Service bulletins for the 2001 Ford F-650

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

0023112001-03-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK. THIS BULLETIN STATES THAT IF THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR WIRES ARE NOT TIE STRAPPED CORRECTLY, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE WIRE TO CONTACT THE WHEEL AND / OR BRAKE DRUM. IF THE WIRE THEN BECOMES CHAFED, A FALSE SINGLE MAY BE SENT TO THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROLLER. THE CONTROLLER MAY THEN MISINTERPRET THESE SIGNALS AND FALSELY DETERMINE THAT THE WHEEL IS ROTATING AT A DIFFERENT SPEED THAN IT ACTUALLY IS. THIS MAY RESULT IN UNWANTED ABS ACTIVATION. *TT

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
