Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford F-450
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 55218 | 2026-10-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R140 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer (PVT) when available. Workshop Manual (WSM) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Accordingly, the air check procedure is not to be used for diagnosing internal transmission hydraulic leaks or as justification for transmission replacement. |

The vehicle may also exhibit a slight running rough condition at idle. This may be due to incorrect learned values in the PCM from operating the vehicle at altitudes greater than 2500 feet (762 meters) above sea level. This condition does not affect vehicle drivability or durability. |
| SSM 53879 | 2025-06-11. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2020-2025 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a delayed engagement into drive and/or reverse on initial start-up. The condition may occur at times after sitting overnight or for a couple of days. This may be due to the transmission fluid draining back from the torque converter. This is a normal characteristic of the 10R140 transmission and has no effect on durability, do not attempt to repair. Advise the customer to allow more time after first engine start-up and before shifting into gear allowing time for the torque converter to refill. |

| TSB 24-2249 | 2024-09-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This article supersedes TSB 22-2087 to update the Part List. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit harsh reverse to drive engagements without diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). This may be due to sticking valves in the main control valve body or suspect input shaft seals (F9) and the output shaft seals (F10). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to perform the transmission accelerated main control break-in routine for the E and F clutches and if necessary, replace the input shaft seals (F9) and the output shaft seals (F10). |
| TSB 24-2142 | 2024-06-12. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This article supersedes TSB 23-2376 to update the Part List and the Service Procedure. Some 2022-2024 F-550 and F-600 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission and 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2704 and P0771 stored in the transmission control module (TCM) with poor shift quality and over 5,000 miles (8,000 km) in service. This may be due to wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing the input shaft O-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the E clutch hub and input shaft O-rings. |
| SSM 52595 | 2024-06-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. When replacing the E clutch hub (7P211) on 2020-2024 F-Super Duty and 2024-2025 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 10R140 transmission, a new washer (7482) has been added and must be installed with the new updated E clutch hub. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01B for proper installation of the washer. Refer to the parts catalog for the appropriate part numbers for the E clutch hub and the washer. |
| SSM 52548 | 2024-05-23. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Various vehicles equiped with 10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100/10R140 transmissions may require replacement of the seal kits (7153) when internal repairs are being performed. These kits come with 4 wheel drive (4WD) seals and will no longer include the 2WD seals. When working on a 2WD vehicle, any 2WD seals must be ordered separately. Refer to the parts catalog for the proper 2WD seals required. |
| SSM 52389 | 2024-04-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2024 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with only diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3012 stored in the PCM. If no drivability concerns or other DTCs are present, perform normal diagnostics per the Workshop Manual (WSM). If diagnostics lead to the powertrain control module (PCM) or body control module (BCM), the replacement of the PCM and/or the BCM will not resolve this concern. This illuminated MIL with DTC U3012 does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. |
