Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford F-450
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 48489 | 2020-02-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P203B. If performing pinpoint test RJ in the Powertrain Control and Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) does not identify an issue, do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is currently investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates. |

| SSM 48457 | 2020-02-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission at times may exhibit a normal skip shift upshifting and downshifting strategy. Typical examples are 1-3 or 3-5 upshift or a 6-4 coasting downshift. This is a normal characteristic and no repairs should be attempted for this condition. For more detailed information about the 10R140 skip gear shift strategy refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01 > Diagnosis and Testing. |
| SSM 48444 | 2020-02-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit a symptom of no ability to schedule a remote start event using the FordPass or Lincolnway app. If only the scheduling portion of the remote start system is not functioning, no repair attempts should be made to correct this condition. If the remote start system is not functioning using the key fob and/or the on-demand remote start function from FordPass or Lincolnway application, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 for further diagnosis. Do not attempt repairs at this time. Engineering is currently investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |
| SSM 48425 | 2020-01-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 transmission may exhibit harsh upshifts between 1st and 5th gears. For vehicles with less than 200 miles (320 km) on the odometer, these harsh upshifts may be due to the transmission adaptive strategy not being fully adapted. The harsh upshifts are not detrimental to transmission operation or durability and upshift quality may improve as the vehicle is driven. If the vehicle does not have any illuminated warning indicators or diagnostic troubles codes (DTCs), do not perform any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates. |
| SSM 48360 | 2019-12-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with power release tailgate may continue to display a Check Tailgate Ajar in the IPC message center after the tailgate is closed. This may occur when the key is in the ON position and the tailgate is opened and closed while the vehicle is in a gear other than PARK. Cycling the key or pressing the OK button on the steering wheel will remove the Check Tailgate Ajar message. This is normal operation of the system and no repair attempts should be made to correct a condition. If a customer complaint is received that the Check Tailgate Ajar message does not go away after closing the tailgate, verify and advise the customer of normal operating characteristic. |
| TSB 19-2345 | 2019-12-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2018-2020 F-150/Expedition/Navigator/F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a water leak on the right front floor during or after the air conditioning (A/C) is used. This may be due to condensation from the evaporator drain tube entering the vehicle through the drain tube seal. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to install an elbow on the evaporator drain tube to direct condensation away from the seal. |
| SSM 48135 | 2019-09-09. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013-2020 vehicles equipped with an EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership (339-EVDC100). Ensure the A/C system has a full charge prior to any compressor diagnostics. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC compressor tool must be used, and the results recorded in the Technician comments field with the warranty claim. This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions. |
| SSM 48130 | 2019-09-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR; VISIBILITY. Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition. |
