Service bulletins for the 2017 Ford F-150

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 500892021-09-28. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Some 2017-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost, or 5.0L engines may exhibit stalling, lack of power, low fuel rail pressure and/or DTCs P0087 or P008A after a repair was made that required the removal of the fuel line that connects the high-pressure fuel pump to the port injection rail, such as injector replacements or base engine repairs. This line must be installed in the correct orientation as it has an internal one-way check valve. To determine if the fuel line has been installed improperly, look at the position of the Oetiker clamp (stainless band clamped around the black fuel line). The clamp holds the one-way check valve in place and should be located closest to the end connected to the port injection rail. If the clamp is not closest to the port injection rail, remove and reinstall the line in the proper orientation.
SSM 488072020-06-04. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2020 Model year vehicles equipped with 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost, or 5.0L engines may exhibit stalling, lack of power, low fuel rail pressure and/or DTCs P0087 or P008A after a repair was made that required the removal of the fuel line that connects the high-pressure fuel pump to the port injection rail, such as injector replacements or base engine repairs. This line must be installed in the correct orientation as it has an internal one-way check valve. To determine if the fuel line has been installed improperly, look at the position of the Oetiker clamp (stainless band clamped around the black fuel line). SSM 469212018-01-29. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; POWER TRAIN. Some 2017 F-Super Duty vehicles with 6.7L diesel engines may exhibit a fuel knock type noise at idle with various cylinder contribution/balance DTCs and/or Fuel Injector Offset Learn DTCs. To resolve this issue please use the following procedure: 1) Make sure ECT1 and EOT are above 176Å?F (80Å?C). 2) Using the IDS or FJDS, run the Manual Injector Balance Test/Enhanced Power Balance Test under Toolbox, Powertrain, Power Balance. If the noise is gone after running the Enhanced Power Balance test, then clear the High Pressure Side Minimum Fuel Mass Adaptation tables for all cylinders, and the Crankshaft Position Sensor under Toolbox, Powertrain, Service Functions, Reset, Clear Specified Function. Do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 468902017-12-14. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2017 F-Super Duty/2016-2017 F650-750 equipped with 6.7L diesel engines and 2015-2017 Transit equipped with 3.2L diesel engines may exhibit a MIL on with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C stored in powertrain control module(PCM). This may be due to incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Prior to performing Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test RJ, ensure DEF concentration is checked using Central Tools Refractometer tool number CEN3R201 and if DEF contamination is suspected use the Rotunda Hydrocarbon Test Kit tool number 328-480508.
