SSM 538672025-06-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1557:31 in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. If no other symptoms, DTCs or conditions are identified, no further action is required. Replacement and/or reprogramming of the RGTM will not resolve this condition.
SSM 538662025-06-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2025 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may exhibit a power liftgate/tailgate inoperative condition with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM). A liftgate/tailgate ajar light may also be displayed in the center display. This may be due to the software in the RGTM. To correct the condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If the condition remains, continue with normal diagnostics per the Workshop Manual (WSM). For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 538562025-06-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. 2025 Expedition XL vehicles will not open or close the power liftgate/tailgate by pressing the button on the key fob. Expedition XL vehicles are designated as Special Service Vehicles (SSV) and the rear liftgate/tailgate power open/close feature is omitted from being operated via the key fob.
