Service bulletins for the 2025 Ford Expedition

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a rear "Liftgate And Tailgate Ajar" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) at all times and/or an inoperative power liftgate or tailgate. This may be due to a pinched harness under the 3rd row left-hand seat belt retractor bracket. Inspect the left-hand seat belt retractor bracket prior to starting tailgate and liftgate ajar diagnostics. If a harness pinch is identified, repair as necessary using the wiring and connector repair procedures contained in Cell 005 of the Wiring Diagram. For claiming, use causal part number 14C719 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D45WR.
SSM 542922025-10-22. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may experience a power tailgate not power opening and/or closing with a liftgate/tailgate ajar light on and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1457:29, B1459:29, B17CB:11, B17CB:29, B15E9:11 and/or B15E9:29 stored in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM). If these DTCs have been set in the RGTM, the power tailgate will not open or close when commanded. This may be due to misadjusted tailgate latch(s) preventing the RGTM from receiving input from the latches that the tailgate is latched. To correct this condition, perform the tailgate latch adjustment procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-03, Steps 12 through 23. Once the adjustment procedure is performed, clear DTCs and retest.
TSB 25-23872025-09-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; VISIBILITY/WIPER. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a condition where the back window liftgate seal corner(s) are falling or sagging. This may be due to the seal insert not holding the seal in place.

Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 27-Jun-2025 may exhibit a condition where the door upper moulding(s) on any of the four doors contact and damage the paint located under the upper-most portion of the B-pillar applique(s). This may be due to a lack of buffer material between the moulding(s) and the door surface. Inform the customer that Ford is aware of the concern and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected to be announced by 30-Nov-2025. This concern does not affect vehicle durability and the customer can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule a service appointment for the customer once the repair becomes available.
SSM 541562025-08-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with one-touch up/down front windows may exhibit a window not responding to one-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one-touch close function. This may be due to a calibration parameter in the driver door module (DDM) and/or passenger door module (PDM). To correct the condition, reprogram the DDM and PDM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. If the symptom remains, refer to WSM, Section 501-11 for normal diagnostics outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part number 14B291 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 541272025-08-12. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025 Expedition vehicles may require replacement of the rear license plate bulb. During any service in this area such as lamp or bulb replacement, it may be difficult to remove the bulb from its socket. To aid in removal, wrap the rear license plate bulb with a broad piece of strong adhesive tape. Leave extra tape hanging to the side of the bulb to provide more areas to grasp, then carefully separate the bulb from its socket.
