Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford E-450
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 Engine System - General Information > Diagnosis and Testing and 303-06 > Starting System has been updated to address this condition. Additionally, WSM, Section 303-01 > Removal and Installation > Engine to Transmission Spacer Plate has been added to address this condition. Refer to the revised WSM sections for normal diagnosis. |
| SSM 53973 | 2025-07-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2021-2024 Edge/Nautilus, 2021-2025 Bronco/Bronco Sport/E-Series/Escape/Corsair/Expedition/Navigator/Explorer/Aviator/F-150/F-Super Duty/Mustang/Ranger, and 2022-2025 Maverick vehicles may require an A/C compressor clutch assembly replacement be performed for various concerns. Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00 Removal and Installation has been updated to eliminate the need to remove and install the A/C compressor to change out the A/C Compressor clutch assembly. |
| TSB 25-2200 | 2025-05-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit an upper engine ticking or tapping noise at idle. Customers may also report experiencing rough engine performance, engine misfire, or a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0301-P0308 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to camshaft and/or valve tappet having excess wear within the engine assembly. |
| SSM 53764 | 2025-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2020 Continental, 2020-2024 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2025 Explorer/Aviator/Escape/Corsair/F-150/F-Super Duty/Ranger/Transit/E-Series, 2021-2025 Bronco, and 2022-2025 Maverick vehicles may require an engine cooling system flush to be performed for various concerns. Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-03 has been updated to eliminate the need to remove and install the radiator assembly to perform a radiator flush. |
| 24B27 S1 | 2024-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Certain 2020-2024 Super Duty and 2021-2025 Model Year Econoline Equipped With a 6.8L or 7.3L Gasoline Engine Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Software Update In affected vehicles, the Variable Displacement Oil Pump (VDOP) delivers oil to the engine at low pressure/capacity during idle conditions. Routine occurrences of prolonged idle time may result in excess wear to the engine camshaft lobes and valve tappet surfaces due to reduced lubrication. Over time, the engine may progressively run rough due to cylinder misfire. Additionally, customers may hear engine tapping noises and the Check Engine Light (CEL) may illuminate |
| SSM 52455 | 2024-05-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty/F-53 Motorhome/F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis or 2023-2025 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a gas engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with ignition system DTC(s) P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0357, P2303, P2306, P2309, P2312, P2318, P2304, P2307, P2310, P2313, P2319, and/or P2322 set in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping within the PCM. This means the DTCs listed may set against the incorrect cylinder. Even though the cylinder to DTC mapping is incorrect in the PCM, the presence of these DTCs means that a real ignition system concern is present that requires diagnosis and repair. Prior to performing a pinpoint test for one of the listed DTCs, it will be necessary to identify the correct cylinder that has the issue. Do this by using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to perform a cylinder power balance test. If the results show two cylinders dropping out, begin diagnosing the ignition system components for the cylinder that is dropping out and not setting an ignition related DTC. Due to the incorrect incorrectcylinder to DTC mapping, the PCM will shut off fuel to the cylinder that the PCM has triggered a DTC against. Diagnosing the cylinder that does not set an ignition DTCand drops during the power balance test, will verify the identity of the cylinder that has the concern. If only onecylinder is dropping out, start diagnostics with that cylinder. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 303-07A/C. |
| SSM 51719 | 2023-06-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2021-2023 F-Super Duty/E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.2L, 6.8L or 7.3L gasoline engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0457 and/or P0455 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a improper fuel filler cap installation and/or outside contamination on the fuel cap sealing surface. The fuel filler cap requires multiple turns to seal properly and should be clean of any debris on sealing surface. Advise the customer to turn the fuel filler cap clockwise until there is at least one audible click to seal properly. If the DTCs return after the fuel filler cap is cleared of debris and properly seated, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-13 > pinpoint test HX. |
| SSM 50974 | 2022-08-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2020-2022 Escape/Corsair/F-53 Motorhome/F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis, 2021-2023 F-650/F-750/E-Series, and 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a communication fault with emissions inspection equipment. This may be due to the software in the gateway module (GWM). To correct this condition, reprogram the GWM to latest software level using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Use causal part 14F642 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
