Service bulletins for the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 21-2268 | 2021-09-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair and 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0766 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and/or intermittent no reverse engagement concerns. This may be due to contamination in the main control valve body separator plate orifice. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to clean the contamination from the main control plate. |

| SSM 49930 | 2021-08-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Some 2020-2021 Escape and 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with the 1.5L engine may exhibit a lugging vibration and/or boom noise while driving in gears 5-8 at approximately 1500 engine revolutions per minute (RPM). This may be felt more when the engine is under a light to moderate load. A vibration and/or boom noise could be generated from the firing frequency of the 3 cylinders or when cylinder deactivation occurs and the engine is running on 2 cylinders. Compare to a like vehicle before attempting to diagnose as this condition may be characteristic. Setting the vehicle's drive mode to SPORT may eliminate the condition by changing the shift points of the transmission. Refer to the Owner's Manual for information on drive mode control and how to select them. |
| SSM 49901 | 2021-07-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a hiss or rattle noise while driving. This may be due to an internal issue with the manual park release cable. Disconnect the cable from the transmission and road-test the vehicle. If the noise is eliminated, reconnect the cable and inform customers that Ford is working on a resolution scheduled for the end of August 2021. In the interim, let the customer know that the vehicle is safe to drive, and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late August. Once the solution becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates. Manual park release cable replacement may not correct this concern. |
| SSM 49571 | 2021-03-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with all wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit chatter/shudder during low speed turning events due to fluid contamination. Drain and refill the rear drive unit (RDU), refer to Workshop Manual Section (WSM) 205-02. Drive for 8 km (5 miles) in stop and go conditions with right and left turns and re-evaluate. If the issue is still present, continue with WSM diagnostics. For claiming, use base (4000) causal part. |
| SSM 49496 | 2021-02-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT. Some 2021 Bronco Sport equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a Check Charging System message and/or illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U012D, U0284,and/or U042E. This may be caused by water intrusion into connector C202. Prior to performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, inspect the C202 connector for signs of corrosion or water residue. If water or corrosion is found, replace the C202 male side connector with pigtail kit (service part number 7U2Z-14S411-KB). To have access to C202 connector remove left front wheel, splash shield and powertrain control module (PCM) bracket. |
