This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0341 and or P0366 set. If the technician has duplicated the concern replace the related Camshaft Position sensor and retest for the code. If the Diagnostic Trouble Code returns technician should check the history to see if the vehicle was in a collision. If the vehicle has been in a collision technician should call General Motors Technical Assistance Center.
PIP5197E2017-08-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that have excessive oil consumption, blue smoke from the exhaust, or a Malfunction Indicator Lamp. Technician should inspect the PVC orifice for leaking oil or drawing a vacuum at idle. If the PCV orifice external port is leaking oil or vacuum, replace the camshaft cover assembly. Technician will inspect for a missing intake manifold Non Return Valve that may have damaged the PCV orifice diaphragm. Check for the return valve if it is not visible use a long cotton swab to wipe any excess oil from the valve to validate. If the non return valve is still not visible, then intake manifold removal for inspection is required to validate. When the valve is present reinstall the intake manifold. When the valve is not present replace the intake manifold assembly.

Technician should review the appropriate Service Information diagnostics for DTC U0101. Also gather all other diagnostic trouble codes in the vehicle and which modules they are set in. The transmission connector pins should be checked for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit. Also inspect the under hood fuse block for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit and mis-positioned fuses in fuse block. Inspect the ground for the Transmission Control Module. Technician should refer to Service Information automatic transmission controls schematics to determine the ground identification.
