Service bulletins for the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| PI-1255F | 2021-04-16. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR. Changing to Camper Outside Rearview Mirrors Some customers may request to have camper style mirrors installed on their vehicle. The new electrical architecture for the Silverado and Sierra has made swapping mirrors a more involved procedure than with previous models. The recommendation has been divided into three upgrades, depending on which mirrors the truck was built with (RPO DE2, DL8 or DL3). Please follow the correct RPO group below, because not all camper mirrors can be installed on all trucks. After selecting the correct RPO mirror the truck was built with, this PI will aid in determining which camper mirrors can be installed. |

| 17-NA-335 | 2021-04-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS. Malfunction Indicator Lamp Illuminated (MIL) - DTC P2635 and/or P018B Set In High Ambient Temperatures With Hesitation, Surging and Stalling Condition Some customers may comment that the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is illuminated. Some customers may also comment on one or more of the following symptoms: • Hesitation • Surging • Stalling Note: In ambient temperatures 100 F (37.7 C) degrees or higher, DTCs P2635 and/or P018B may set. The Technician may find one or more of the following DTCs set: • P2635 • P018B Cause This condition may be caused by a vapor buildup in fuel feed line. Correction If the conditions stated above are met, replace the fuel pump module with an updated version |
| 17-NA-331 | 2021-04-15. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Rear View Camera Guidelines Not Present at Times Condition Some customers may report that the Rear View Camera (RVC) guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again. |

| 17-NA-327 | 2021-04-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Information for Dead Battery Condition Some customers may comment on the following conditions: • Dead battery • Dead battery after car sits a couple days Cause This condition may be caused by the OnStar® module staying awake, drawing power from the battery. Correction Note: If the vehicle is towed to the dealer with a dead battery, it is highly unlikely that a battery draw will be verified once the battery is charged. Verify that the vehicle VIN is flagged in the Global Warranty Management / Investigate History (GWM/IVH). If the VIN is flagged, do a Blue Button Press from the vehicle and request a "Re-configuration" and operational evaluation. |
