Service bulletins for the 2014 Cadillac CTS

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

PI0748A2021-04-26. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may comment on a water leak or wind noise coming from the passenger door window. The cause of this condition is an inner door belt reinforcement that was positioned too far outboard prior to it being welded into the door frame. This condition is specific to the passenger door only. This mis-positioned reinforcement causes the rear of the window regulator and the door glass to also be outboard, creating a gap between the glass and the B pillar seal.

Evaluating Damage In evaluating damage, it is the GM Dealer's responsibility to inspect the wheel for corrosion, scrapes, gouges, etc. The Dealer must insure that such damage is not deeper than what can be sanded or polished off. The wheel must be inspected for cracks. If cracks are found, discard the wheel. Any wheels with bent rim flanges must not be repaired or refinished. Wheels that have been refinished by an outside company must be returned to the same vehicle. The Dealer must record the wheel ID stamp or the cast date on the wheel in order to assure this requirement. Refer to Refinisher's Responsibility — Outside Company later in this bulletin.

PIP5725A2021-04-19. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. This Preliminary information communicates the use of Winter grade fuel during the warm months of 2020 and the potential rivability issues that it can cause. The ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused significant reductions in driving and fuel use. Due to the surplus of winter grade fuel sitting in storage (pipelines/stations) the EPA is waiving the fuel vapor requirement. This will extend the use of winter fuel into the summer months. The drivability concerns should not be single events but should be multiple occurrences associated with hot days.
PI-1408E2021-04-16. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Musty Odor from HVAC Vents on Startup Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on a musty or mildew odor coming from the HVAC instrument panel air outlet vents on startup. The odor most likely will dissipate after 30-60 seconds of operation. The odor generally occurs after the vehicle has been parked for 2–6 hours with sun load with temperatures of 21°C (70°F) or higher. This may be caused by condensation building up on the evaporator core, which does not evaporate by itself in humid conditions. The odor may be the result of microbial growth on the evaporator core being released into the air stream by the HVAC blower motor.
