Service bulletins for the 2021 BMW X6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
244 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| B160123 | 2024-02-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. A vehicle arrives at your center to be diagnosed for a micro-leak in the fuel evaporative (EVAP) system(NVLD natural vacuum leak detection). For this condition, the following fault is stored in the DME: 190302 - fuel tank ventilation and scavenging air system, micro-leak: leakage more than 0.5mm For: Model vehicles other that the ones listed above, or for EVAP faults related to a “large leak,” after confirming that the fuel filler cap is fitted properly, then, proceed to follow the corresponding test plan |

| B160123 | 2023-07-24. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. A vehicle arrives at your center to be diagnosed for a micro-leak in the fuel evaporative (EVAP) system (NVLD natural vacuum leak detection). For this condition, the following fault is stored in the DME: 190302 - fuel tank ventilation and scavenging air system, micro-leak: leakage more than 0.5 mm. |
| SIB170220 | 2022-10-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; SERVICE BRAKES; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Symptom 1: There are traces of coolant leaking under the vehicle, or there is significant pressure released along with coolant loss when opening the low temperature cooling system reservoir (engine cold). The following fault code may also be stored in the DME: 20A201 - Charge air cooling system: Coolant pump protective function activated due to dry running Symptom 2*: The air conditioning may have low cooling output with the following fault stored in the IHKA: 80120A - Compressor: Shut down due to overpressure in refrigerant system. Symptom 2 is an additional symptom related to Symptom 1. Diagnose the IHKA fault with ISTA test plans if it is the only fault stored (if no DME faults are stored related to coolant loss, this bulletin repair does not apply). |
| B160321 | 2022-06-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:PNEUMATIC:DELIVERY:PIPES, HOSES, AND FITTINGS. A fuel leak may develop from the fuel tank. |
| B110521 | 2022-05-31. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator. |
| B110521 | 2022-02-22. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator. |
| B512720 | 2020-12-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP; STRUCTURE:BODY. FUEL FILLER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN: The fuel filler door (aka flap) will not open. In rare cases, if the vehicle is locked using the remote control key and the fuel filler door is pushed closed simultaneously, the fuel door can enter a locked state that cannot be unlocked. |
| B160420 | 2020-12-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. TANK VENTILATION DIAGNOSIS: There is software error in the diagnosis of the fuel tank ventilation valve. This error may result in the Service Engine Soon (MIL) light not being activated if a fault is found in the tank vent system after a second fault detection. |
