Service bulletins for the 2015 BMW 435i

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

391 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

6121142018-11-13. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. Service Action: Check Wiring Harness for Electric Fuel Pump. The wiring harness for the electric fuel pump may not have been routed or secured correctly. In unfavorable conditions, the wiring harness may come into contact with sharp edges on the fuel pump access cover. Continuous contact with the access cover can damage the wiring harness, which leads to fault codes stored and CC messages displayed. AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action involves F33 models according to Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) selection. First check if a Service Action label with a code number 692 is already attached to the B-pillar. If a code number 692 has been punched out, the Campaign has already been performed and no further action is necessary. Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as "Open" when checked either in the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key Reader. Incorrect routing of the harness for the electric fuel pump.
6115142018-11-13. Service bulletin. SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Neck Warmer Not Working. The neck warmer function (NWR) is not working and the LEDs in the NWR control element do not light up. The neck warmer functions properly after switching the ignition off and on again. The control unit is located under the rear seat bottom, as shown in the photo, and is clipped into place.SMFA (Seat Module Drivers) fault code E44C21: "LIN bus: Neck warmer control unit does not function" is stored. Note: For the first time, the neck warmer is available as optional equipment (SA4NH) in the Convertible. The neck warmer reduces cold drafts that a customer feels on his or her neck when driving with the roof open. Warm air is guided over the seat. The operation differs depending on whether the roof is open or closed. Neck warmer software application error.
6103142018-11-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Check Control Messages Related to Battery Charge During Cold Ambient Temperatures. On cold days with an outside ambient temperature of less than 15°F, customers may notice a check control message related to the battery that is displayed on the instrument cluster and the control information display. Under these conditions, the vehicle starts. Various power management faults can be stored: * 213901 - Power management: Reduction or shutdown of individual electrical consumer * 8040BD - Reset or deactivation of Terminal 30F * 8040B9 - De-activation of terminal 30B: Top start capability limit reached * 8020E8 - Reset or deactivation of terminal 30F * 800E89 - FRM: start capability limit reached with lights active during stationary mode * 93076B - Deactivation of terminal 30B: upper start capability limit reached * 93076A - Deactivation of terminal 15: upper start capability limit reached, but deactivation preventer active * 93076C - Deactivation of terminal 30B: upper start capability limit reached, but deactivation preventer or legal loads active * 930769 - Deactivation of terminal 15: upper start capability limit reached Note: When the outside temperatures drop below 46°F, the charging system is switch to full charge. CAUSE * The check control message (ID 229) is caused by a heavily discharged battery. * The check control message is triggered when the current state of charge (SoC) of the battery approaches the minimum SoC that is required to start the vehicle (start capability limit). * In low outside ambient temperatures, the start capability limit of the vehicle is higher. Therefore it takes more energy from the battery to start a cold engine. * Without the early warning of the check control message, the current state of charge would drop below the start capability limit and the vehicle would not start. * The vehicle's intelligent power management system actively takes measures to increase the charge of the battery, such as increasing idle speed and reducing or shut
8403142018-11-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. iPhone: Connection Failures with iOS 7. There are various connectivity failures with the iPhone using iOS 7. Some examples are listed below: * Call disconnection * Contact List incomplete * General connection failures CAUSE Apple software iOS 7 and its variants.
0104142018-11-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. External Engine Oil Leaks and Repairs. During the vehicle's operational life, normal engine oil seepage or sweating, in addition to accumulated road dust, dirt and grime in the engine compartment can cause the appearance of a more severe oil leak. This is further exaggerated by residual oil that remains on the engine assembly after maintenance services are performed, e.g., oil filter changes, "engine oil top-offs," etc. If this visual appearance of accumulated oil on the engine assembly as an "active leak" is misinterpreted, unnecessary gasket repairs/replacements will result. Specifically, our analysis of the claim-related data for vehicles equipped with the engines noted in this bulletin is showing an above-average number of engine gasket repair/replacement claim submissions. The purpose of this bulletin is to provide your workshop with information and a procedure that will help in identifying engine oils leaks that do and do not require a repair.

B6519152018-11-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT. XM Satellite Radio Reception. INFORMATION Currently Satellite Radio is provided by SiriusXM for BMW customers. SiriusXM is the only company currently broadcasting Satellite Radio in North America. Satellite radio is broadcast from two different sets of Satellites using different earth orbits. XM uses geosynchronous (GEO) satellites located roughly above the equator. This means that the satellite signal to some parts of the United States can come in at an angle as low as 32 degrees to the horizon. This is different than Sirius Satellites in a Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) which currently come in to the vehicle at a higher angle to the horizon. As of April 2016 Sirius equipped head units will move to the XM Satellites constellation and will show the same location based cutouts. SiriusXM is currently updating the repeater network to cover areas of low reception, but the general disadvantage of geostationary satellites can't be compensated completely. Buildings, hills, trees, highway sound blocking walls or any other obstacles might block the satellite signal coming from the south at a 32 degree elevation angle and might cause audio cut outs in absence of terrestrial repeaters. Reception quality decreases the further north you travel, as the angle of the incoming signal gets flatter. Adverse weather conditions will affect reception. Sirius XM will increase the amount of Sirius and XM repeaters gradually to improve situation in metropolitan areas. When investigating Satellite Radio cutouts or a temporary loss of reception: Please compare to a similarly equipped vehicle. Do not compare an XM equipped vehicle to a Sirius equipped vehicle. Replace no parts Customers should direct all reception complaints to one of the following: BMW Customer Relations department at either 1-800-831-1117 or customerrelations@bmwusa.com BMW Genius Hotline 1-844-443-6487 or to the dealers onsite BMW Genius Customers must provide the exact location (street address or Latitude/Longitude), weathe
