Service bulletins for the 2022 Bentley Flying Spur
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 2068455/2 | 2023-09-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Grease evident at the front lower ball joint bellows. Customer statement / workshop findings: Grease evident on or around the front axle lower ball joint bellows In the event the symptom is as described, the operative should carry out the instructions within the Measure section Technical background: During service work and/or other repairs, a loss of grease can be detected from the front axle lower ball joint on one or both lower ball joint bellows. Measure: Findings performed on supposedly damaged components have shown that they were of good quality, no damage was found to the ball joint bellows which could of resulted in the leak Grease may leak during the initial assembly of the front lower levers. This due to a maximum deflection of the conical spigot before the lower lever is assembled into the wheel carrier. Over the service life, additional foreign bodies can collect in the corresponding area and stick to the excess grease, which can then be distributed over a larger area If there is no customer complaint about noises (rattling, pinching, creaking) from the area of the front axle and the lower levers have clearance, the operative must remove any excess grease and check the ball joint and bellows for damage If the ball joint/bellows is not damaged, the lower lever does not need to be replaced The level of grease on or around the lower ball joint boot/wheel bearing housing (Figures 1,2 and 3) is deemed as a normal characteristic. |
| 2070344/1 | 2023-09-07. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Headlamp control unit replacement - Bentayga and New Flying Spur. Customer statement: Headlamp is not working or the headlamp is flickering Workshop findings Headlamp assembly diagnosed as faulty. | 2069806/2 | 2023-09-07. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; VISIBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. HVAC refrigerant leakage suspected Or reports of a damp/musty smell within the cabin - Diagnosis guidelines. Customer statement / workshop findings: HVAC not cooling / HVAC cooling less than expected / HVAC refrigerant leakage confirmed Or The customer reports a damp/musty smell within the cabin Note: For this scenario please see the pre requisites below - Should no HVAC leak be evident and a damp/musty smell has been reported/identified the operative should first confirm that water is not leaking into the cabin please refer to all VIN applicable TPIs particularly TPI 2062622/- - Should there be no water leaks evident, the operative should check the HVAC and body drains for blockages, in the event the drains are blocked the drains must be unblocked, once this has been completed the operative should confirm if the damp/musty smell is still evident. In the event that HVAC cleaning products are required, these MUST be sourced locally. Before using the cleaner the operative must inform the customer of the product which will be used, a neutral fragrance cleaner should be used as the customer may not like the smell of the cleaner should a fragranced product be used Please ensure all supporting information is included within the DISS query when requesting permission to clean the HVAC system including clear photographs and/or videos showing the reported issue, should the required information not be supplied the warranty claim could be cancelled. |
| 2071131/1 | 2023-09-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Measured values - Cycle recording instructions. Customer statement / workshop findings: In some cases Measured value traces may be requested in XML format for analysis by Product Support Technical background: The instructions within the Measure section of this TPI have been generated to guide operatives through the process for recording Measured values in cycles by using self diagnosis, the Instructions also detail how to locate corresponding files which are required for analysis Product Support will advise regarding the Measured values and cycle time required. |
| 2071006/1 | 2023-08-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEAT BELTS. Rear seatbelt - Incorrect buckle status within the DIP - New Continental GT/C and New Flying Spur. Customer statement: Incorrect rear seatbelt buckle status shown within the DIP Workshop findings Although there is no occupant evident within the rear seats (2nd row) the rear seat is shown as occupied (Figure 1). Technical background: There is no specific DTC evident for the scenario described. The issue described is evident as the rear seat belt buckles are not resistor coded The system uses a non-resistor coded buckle strategy (zero-infinity or open-closed buckle) for the rear seats. In correct operation, a fastened seatbelt is open circuit and an un-fastened seatbelt is closed circuit If harness damage is present or an electrical connector joint is not properly engaged, an unintended open circuit occurs. This will give an incorrect buckle status reading within the DIP The advice within this TPI should be referred to first before conducting any further diagnosis or disassembly of the vehicles interior Previous assembly/disassembly may have caused an unintentional open circuit when operatives have been working on or around the rear seat belt assemblies. |
| 2059612/4 | 2023-08-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Bentayga Hybrid and New Flying Spur Hybrid - Home Charging Unit PIN code. Customer statement / workshop findings: Bentley Home Charging Unit: Unable to recollect Personal Identification Number (PIN). Unable to charge High Voltage Battery with Bentley Home Charging Unit. Technical background: The Bentley Home Charging Unit can be protected from unauthorised use by creating a four-digit PIN. If the PIN authorisation function is activated it has to be entered in the Home Charging Unit before it is used to charge the High Voltage Battery. If a Customer forgets the assigned PIN it will not be possible to unlock the Bentley Home Charging Unit. Follow the steps within the Measure section to reset the PIN. Measure: If the Bentley Home Charging Unit PIN is forgotten the user manual suggests the Customer contact an authorised Bentley Retailer to enable PIN reset. Currently the PIN reset system is not available to Bentley Retailers, although a service solution is in progress. Should a Customer request PIN reset, please advise that a Personal Unlock Key (PUK) is included within the letter originally supplied with the Bentley Home Charging Unit. If the Customer enters the PUK into the Bentley Home Charging Unit a new PIN may be set. |
