Service bulletins for the 2022 Bentley Bentayga

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Bulletins, newest first
2036678/42021-10-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Speaker Replacement - Diagnostic checks. Customer statement / workshop findings: Audio output from speakers is distorted Technical background: There have been instances where door speakers have been changed under warranty for the complaint of sound distortion, yet when tested by ourselves and the supplier, no fault could be found with the returned unit. Production change: All speakers are subjected to a dynamic test and the individual results recorded for future reference
2051519/92021-10-05. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. HVAC operation issues/HVAC Motor defect DTCs logged. Customer statement / workshop findings: HVAC operation issues and HVAC motor defect (DTCs) evident within address 08 Climatronic control unit, the DTCs can be static or sporadic (Intermittent) The Event memory entries (DTCs) shown within the Header data of this TPI are included as examples Technical background: The HVAC motors can become defective causing HVAC operational issues IMPORTANT: The following instructions should only be carried out on receipt of a valid customer complaint Or The operative is conducting EB28 or EB29 and issues are evident
2051219/62021-10-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. W12 TSI Camshaft Phaser Position Related DTC. Customer statement / workshop findings: Customer reporting Emission Control Warning Indicator displayed. Engine running rough.
2051187/62021-10-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Poor Engine Running Complaints (Misfires) Petrol Engines Only. Customer statement / workshop findings: Poor engine running, reduced power, engine warning lamp illuminated. Technical background: Technical Product Information (TPI) to assist Retailers when diagnosing poor engine running or misfire. Measure: The following TPI should be carried out sequentially to ensure the root cause and analysis of the concern are identified without unnecessary work or repetitive actions taking place.
2033864/62021-10-04. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Customer statement / workshop findings: Unable to remove Accessory valve caps, Figure 1 shows an example of the caps. Technical background: We have observed instances where the caps have been difficult to remove once fitted, the issue is caused by corrosion. The valve stem itself is made from aluminium and the accessory valve caps are chromium plated brass, it is possible under certain environmental conditions, particularly winter road salt, for corrosion to take place between these dissimilar metals. Measure: The solution is to apply a thin smear of silicon-based grease, such as Dow Corning high vacuum grease, to the external threads of the valve stem prior to fitting the accessory valve cap. Grease should be applied any time the cap is removed and grease is not evident
2028808/52021-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Service info: Engine oil Specific oil type and oil consumption reference. Customer statement / workshop findings: Engine oil level requires top up between services Technical background: The use of the correct oil for each engine type is critical for its continued performance, reliability and ultimately warranty. The workshop manual should always be the first point of reference, ensuring the correct lubricant is used for each specific model year and engine type Should oil be required the parts catalogue must be referred to ensuring the correct VIN is always used when ordering
2064404/12021-10-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Brake pedal clicking after the vehicle pulls away (following initial engine start). Customer statement / workshop findings: Complaint of the brake pedal clicking shortly after vehicle start up/drive away (following engine start) once the vehicle reaches 20kmh/12mph Technical background: Refer to the video on the Bentley Hub referencing TPI 2064404/- The noise is the ABS control unit performing a self-test diagnostic routine If the complaint noise is as shown in the video, the customer should be advised that this is normal and expected behaviour
2063406/22021-10-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Rear brake squeal (5 KHz) Non CSiC brakes only. Customer statement / workshop findings At low speed, during low braking force application, the rear brakes can produce a high frequency noise (5khz). Measure 1) Follow the Brake noise identification TPI 2052785 - IMPORTANT: For frequency analysis the noise recording equipment Bentley Motors recommends is the Chassis ear tool WT 10437 - Obtain a clear recording using WT 10437 - Carry out an inspection of the brake system to confirm the brake system components are serviceable as per Elsa pro guidelines - Confirm if the brake shim kit (36A 698 219) has previously been fitted to the rear brake pads (As per TPI 2046299/-)
2056407/32021-10-04. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. Running gear - Noise identification. Customer statement: Noise complaint from the suspension and/or steering Workshop findings: The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the suspension system from either of the axles And/or The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the steering system
