Service bulletins for the 2010 Audi S5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

637 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

A911582 2029903-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-42 dated June 20, 2012. The customer complains about the picture quality of rearview backup camera image in the MMI screen. The picture is fuzzy or distorted. The picture looks too bright, too dark, or opaque in certain areas of the image. The colors of the objects in the image are incorrect or slightly off. The guidelines used for parking are fuzzy, distorted, or pixelated when compared with the guidelines displayed on another vehicle?s MMI.
A191559 2034439-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 19 number 13-45 dated September 3, 2013. The coolant warning light is illuminated. Coolant is leaking from the front intercooler radiator because of stone damage to the radiator. When vehicles are driven on gravel roads, there is a greater chance of front-end stone impact damage to the intercooler radiator.
A911579 2038824-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-69 dated November 4, 2014. The following message appears on the MMI display: "Device or cable type not supported". The AMI cable being used is a genuine Audi-branded cable with an Audi part number (see Required Parts and Tools for a list of valid part numbers). The "Device or cable type not supported" message may be displayed when an incorrect AMI cable type is connected to the MMI system. Only cables with an Audi part number (i.e., 4F0.XXX.XXX) are supported by the MMI system. Volkswagen-branded cables look similar, but are not guaranteed to work with Audi MMI systems. The label on the end of an Audi-branded cable has an Audi logo and Audi part number. Audi-branded cables have unique firmware inside the hardware that can determine which MMI system and iOS device are connected to the cable. Volkswagen cables do not have this firmware. The firmware is required to allow the system to function normally due to the different technology available in the different MMI systems and in the different iPhones and iPod Touch devices. In addition, the AMI system was designed to play the music stored locally on the connected device only. Music streaming (from Spotify or Pandora, for example) is not supported, and music stored in the cloud (on Google Play, Amazon Prime, or iTunes Match/iCloud, for example) may drop out, pause, and skip when played.
A911578 2011500-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 08-129 dated November 12, 2008. Customer states that the reception of satellite radio occasionally fades or drops out. The information display may show a message related to the satellite radio, such as "Linking", "Updating", "Acquiring Signal", "Loading", "No Signal", or "No Sat".
A171557 2010043-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 13-35 dated January 9, 2013. This bulletin lists engine oils that meet Audi oil quality standards (VW 501 01, 502 00, 505 00, 505 01, and 504 00/507 00).
A101511 2018288-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 13-10 dated September 5, 2013. Prior to engine replacement, any debris lodged in transferred assemblies must be removed. If the engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these metal debris pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, they could be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage.
A011514 2014753-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-09 dated June 21, 2013. The use of contaminated gasoline or gasoline with a low content of deposit control additives may result in excessive accumulation of deposits on intake valves, intake manifold, fuel injectors, and combustion chambers, engine running rough after cold start, excessive engine cranking time, hesitations while driving, rough engine idle, Reduced engine performance, and/or Poor fuel economy. Conditions may be severe enough to illuminate the MIL in conjunction with storage of DTCs for misfire, lean fuel system, or air/fuel ratio imbalance in the engine control module. Condition may be caused by use of contaminated gasoline. Condition may be caused by use of gasoline with a low content of deposit control additives.
A191668 2042328-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The red coolant light is illuminated , indicating that the coolant temperature is too high or that the coolant level is too low. The engine speed governing light is illuminated with the message " Engine speed maximum XXXX rpm". To prevent the engine from overheating, the engine speed is automatically limited to the displayed maximum. DTCs are stored in the ECM due to the problem. Tolerances of opening spring in thermostat cause the condition.
A351620 2030477-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Gearbox malfunction message in cluster. DTCs P17D800, P179D00, P174000, P174C, P174B, P174F, P179C, P174A, and/or P174E are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and symptom codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.
Elsa Newsletter2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. TSBs in this newsletters include the MIL on due to DTC P042000 and/or P043000 (Catalyst system Bank 1/2, Efficiency below threshold) being stored in the ECM. New ECM software implemented to correct the condition.
A011650 2026299-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE.
