Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi S4

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

795 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

37 14 30 20036582022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC):CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).
37 13 09 20287152022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:GEARS. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted.
35 14 17 20322112022-05-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:FLUID/LUBRICANT. Incorrect driving mode sensor module. The driver information system displays the message ?Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving?.
30 13 18 20282292022-05-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. There may be clutch mechanism wear. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start or only starts when the clutch pedal is pressed very firmly. The message ?Press clutch pedal to start vehicle? may appear in the instrument cluster.
3513152030477 62021-12-13. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The following message appears in the information display: ?Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving?.
A351833 2028085-2018-10-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. This bulletin contains instructions for diagnosing transmission leaks and repairing them.
A371882 2051685-2018-09-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). This bulletin contains repair instructions for when DTC P179E00 is stored and the mechantronic unit and/or gear sensor G676 are being replaced.
A301519 2019850-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 30 number 11-10 dated December 2, 2011. Clutch is not operating properly. Clutch has a burnt smell. Clutch pedal does not fully return to starting position. Incorrect shifting, the revolutions of clutch plate and engine input shaft differ too much, excessive slipping of the clutch, and when the clutch is pressed and an incorrect lower gear is selected, can result in clutch damage.
A301722 2019850-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. This technical service bulletin provides guidelines for diagnosing the clutch plate.
A371448 2030007-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-65 dated September 25, 2012. Customer may report harsh shift concerns, but the customer is unable to determine the shift point because there is no gear indicator in the cluster. The concern can be reproduced. No faults are stored. TAC must be contacted before any repairs are attempted. Specific information about the concern must be gathered (as described in the Service portion of this bulletin) before TAC is contacted.
A351314 2030477-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 35 number 13-13 dated July 12, 2013. The following message appears in the information display: "Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". Fault entries are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and symptom codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Instructions for obtaining the symptom codes are in the Service section of this bulletin. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.
A371309 2028715-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-40 dated February 28, 2012. Rough gear changes, both when accelerating and when slowing down. There is a rough driving power disruption that occurs sporadically and lasts for less than a second.
A351313 2030477-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 35 number 13-10 dated May 7, 2013. The following message appears in the information display: "Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". Fault entries are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and expanded environmental conditions codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.
A371390 2032971-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Transmission warning message appears in instrument cluster. The gearbox is in limp mode until key is cycled. Fault P17E100 (DFCC 9473) is stored in transmission control unit. The DFCC is the 4-6 digit code that is typically listed before the fault code. The fault is very sporadic and usually appears after a cold start. Fault is caused by transmission software that is too sensitive.
A661330 2030471-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 12-24 dated August 24, 2012. Customer may report the license plate attachment screws do not install properly. The license plate brackets are designed to be used with the appropriate length screw installed by hand with a screwdriver.
