Service bulletins for the 2010 Audi R8

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A441456 2022563-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 14-50 dated May 14, 2014. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. Customer feels the vibration while driving at highway speeds from 55 ? 80 mph (88 ? 128 km/h). This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. If an applicable Repair Authorization is not followed, the claim will not be paid.
A011491 2028842-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Customer vehicle is fitted with unauthorized ECM tuning. All systems on Audi vehicles are engineered to work together using the factory calibrations, which have been extensively tested and validated before the vehicle is released for sale. The Audi warranty coverage is based on the results of developing the vehicle under the factory calibration. If a vehicle is equipped with unauthorized hardware or software tuning, it can cause stress on vehicle components outside of intended design limits, and can cause damage and additional wear. Subsequently, factory powertrain warranty coverage is reduced or voided.
A911462 2038296-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The audio CD or navigation DVD cannot be ejected from the RNS-E optical disc slot behind the navigation screen. The adaptation for enabling the eject button was either not performed at PDI or was not performed correctly (with a bus sleep immediately following the adaptation change). If ODIS OBD self-diagnosis was used, then it's possible a value of "1" was used, or if using the GFF test plan, the "CD/DVD Ejecting" option was incorrectly chosen. Setting the adaption to "1" or choosing the "CD/DVD Ejecting" option, is a one-time eject option that allows the ODIS tester to only eject the CD/DVD. This option does not permanently change the adaptation value and as a result the eject button remains disabled.
A911463 2028190-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-08 dated September 20, 2013. The customer would like to add a different navigation map database for countries outside of the USA or Canada. The customer would like to change the MMI system language to a different language that is not already supported by MMI. When a song is being played and the track information for that song contains foreign language characters, the driver information system (DIS) in the cluster correctly displays the characters, but the MMI display does not.
A871458 2035582-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 13-46 dated October 21, 2013. The A/C Compressor has been diagnosed as faulty and will be replaced under warranty. When performing replacement of an A/C Compressor under warranty, the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered must be documented.
A911466 2020399-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-24 dated January 24, 2014. The Audi MMI system will not play audio files from an SD card. The MMI system does not recognize the audio files on the SD card. The MMI system reports that the audio files on the SD card are damaged. The audio files on the SD card will play on one Audi vehicle, but will not play on a different Audi vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with RNS-E, Concert Radio with SD card slot, MMI3G, MMI3G+, or MIB.
A911467 2021037-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-85 dated May 29, 2013. The iPod or the USB memory stick is not recognized or the iPod is not charged when either unit is connected to the Audi music interface (AMI). MMI3G or a Symphony/Concert CAN radio system with separate AMI control unit in the glove box or armrest. MMI3G+ with integrated AMI in the MMI main unit.
A911302 2018187-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11-20 dated October 21, 2011. Customer may report that cracking, grinding, rattling, humming, whining, or similar interference is coming from one or more speakers. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices.
A911393 2034784-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some telephone numbers that were downloaded via Bluetooth® are stored with additional, unrelated numbers that do not appear in the contact on the customer"s cellular phone. These telephone numbers are displayed incorrectly on the radio display. The software incorrectly stores the downloaded phone numbers.
A911395 2034511-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). DTC 02261 (Data medium - Faulty) is sporadically set in the navigation control module, J401 (address word 37). The vehicle has the MY2014 navigation database installed. The DVD label should read "Version 2013/2014". If the DTC is static, or if there are functional issues with the navigation system, this bulletin does not apply. A change in the MY2014 navigation software is causing the RNS-E unit to trigger this DTC.
A961367 2019260-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 12-37 dated June 11, 2012. The customer may report that the handheld transmitter cannot be programmed to the garage door opener control module, J530. The customer's door opener system may not be compatible with J530. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. In A4 Model Years 2005 - 2006 and A3 Model Year 2009, the actual location of the garage door opener control module differs from the location shown in the owner's manual (opposite side of front bumper). The customer may misunderstand the programming procedure, particularly if the customer's HomeLink® opener system is using an alternate code. The handheld transmitter's programming function may become inoperative, or the transmitter is too far away from J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. If the vehicle flashes during the programming of a handheld transmitter, this does not necessarily indicate that the programming was successful; it only indicates that the vehicle has recognized and saved a signal.
A961368 2029384-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-64 dated June 20, 2013. The customer is able to program one or more of the Homelink buttons using their garage door remote, but after a few days or weeks, one or more of the programmed Homelink buttons no longer functions. The LED on the Homelink button that is no longer functioning now flashes slowly, indicating that no programming is stored. The customer's transmitter operates at 295Mhz. No DTCs are stored in any control units. At the workshop, the Homelink system can be programmed to the workshop garage door successfully. No trouble is found. The garage door opener control module, J530, was designed with an operational frequency range in which the 295Mhz frequency works correctly during the initial programming of the system. Over time, the transmitting frequency can drift out of range (especially in warmer climates), causing the system to lose its programming.
A911392 2030947-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated September 25, 2012. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone gets the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call assuming the phone is not responding.
A571382 2017082-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11-55 dated August 22, 2011. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders.
A001348 2002047-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 11-19 dated April 8, 2011. This TSB contains information on technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center

A911526 2042097-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The traffic feature in the MMI navigation is inoperative. If the vehicle is a model year 2016 A6 or A7, see TSB 2042013: 91 Audi connect online destination search, Google Earth navigation view, or INRIX online traffic is not available. There is a known server issue that can only be resolved through a change to the Audi AG backend server. Audi has changed traffic providers over the years as new technologies have developed. This bulletin provides an overview of the different systems and the basic checks that can be performed to diagnose complaints related to traffic in the MMI navigation system.
A001578 2021205-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 10-05 dated June 14, 2010. VIN plate and/or B-Pillar Safety Certification label requires replacement.
A911524 2026611-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-46 dated July 10, 2012. This Technical Bulletin provides an overview of HD Radio technology and terminology. The
A021201 2031910-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. Customer may report a rattle noise from rear of transmission at idle. On manual vehicles, noise may changewhen clutch is depressed. The R8 is not equipped with a dual mass flywheel therefore the engine vibrations go directly into the gearbox. The gears which are not engaged will vibrate and cause a rattling noise. This noise will not affect performance of the vehicle. Replacing the transmission will not change this condition.
A941296 2027773-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-69 dated March 15, 2012. Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles with LED DRLs. For vehicles with halogen DRLs, please reference TSB 2017488, 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only.
A911263 2021151-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle.
A901238 2032113-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc.
A911450 2018187-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-02 dated August 30, 2013.
A001467 2002047-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 14-61 dated May 1, 2014. Technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
