Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A011491 2028842-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Customer vehicle is fitted with unauthorized ECM tuning. All systems on Audi vehicles are engineered to work together using the factory calibrations, which have been extensively tested and validated before the vehicle is released for sale. The Audi warranty coverage is based on the results of developing the vehicle under the factory calibration. If a vehicle is equipped with unauthorized hardware or software tuning, it can cause stress on vehicle components outside of intended design limits, and can cause damage and additional wear. Subsequently, factory powertrain warranty coverage is reduced or voided.
A011495 2038434-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The MIL is on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Software update needed.
A011496 2018260-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-76 dated March 14, 2013. MIL on. A number of incident memory entries with regard to the throttle valve are stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (01). In most cases, the entries are sporadic. Contact resistance in the ECM wiring ? throttle valve.
A261424 2038295-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. There are ?Refill AdBlue? warnings in the cluster. The warnings appear approximately 1,500 - 2,500 miles after the last top-off. When the AdBlue tank is refilled, the vehicle will only accept approximately 1 - 2 gallons of reductant. When checked manually, the active tank is 50% full or less and the passive tank is full. There are no reductant system fault codes stored. If any reductant system fault codes are stored, this TSB does not apply. The reducing agent transfer pump V436 may be faulty. The vehicle cannot pump AdBlue from the passive tank to the active tank. Cars in hot weather regions are more prone to this issue.
A481462 2017266-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 14-59 dated June 2, 2014. Electrically-adjustable steering column adjustment is restricted and does not adjust vertically. Incorrect operation of Easy Entry is not the cause. It is unlikely that external forces have led to the loss of the stored end positions of the adjustment movement. Seat adjustments can be used to maintain the 10-inch minimum recommended distance from the steering wheel in case of airbag deployment. The axial adjustment is still functional during this condition.
A641436 2020552-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD. Windshield is streaked, has a snakeskin appearance, or its surface feels rough. Residue from industrial fallout as well as normal road dirt and grime may accumulate on windshield.

Customer may also state that the flap is stuck in a locked position and it cannot be moved with fingers.
2013 06 Audi Bra2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; SERVICE BRAKES. This document contains information on the Audi braking guard.
A011322 2019208-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-93 dated May 8, 2013. Engine does not start in extremely cold ambient temperatures. If, during winter months, the vehicle is used mainly for short trips, it is possible for an excessive amount of condensed water to collect in the rear muffler. When the condensed water level in the muffler reaches a certain point, it is possible for this water to run into the exhaust pipe and freeze overnight, preventing the engine from starting.
A461353 2034181-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Customer may report hearing brake noise from front or rear brakes. Customers may describe these noises as a squeal, squeak, grinding, groaning, thumping, or creaking.

A481351 2017266-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 10-09 dated August 13, 2010. Electric steering column adjustment is restricted or does not work at all. Incorrect operation of Easy Entry is not the cause. It is unlikely that external forces have led to the loss of the stored end positions of the adjustment movement. See TSB 2015819, 48 Easy Entry function of the power adjustable steering column intermittently does not work, for more information. The seat adjustments can be used to maintain the 10-inch minimum recommended distance from the steering wheel in case of airbag deployment. The steering column may be under tension due to unfavorable tolerances of the steering column and module cross carrier. As a result, the current draw of the regulator motors is above specification, so the electric steering column adjustment fails.
A571392 2022032-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11-49 dated August 8, 2011. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices.
A941327 2033675-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 55 number 13-31 dated July 18, 2013. The customer may report that the tail lamp lighting does not switch over from bumper to the lid, with lid closed. The rear bumper lights function normally (brake lights, reverse lights, driving lights, turn signals). The center mount brake light functions normally. DTC 03073 (Closed Rear Lid Sensor - Incorrect Signal) may be stored in the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 46).
AWA-13-072017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL. As part of Audi's ongoing commitment to our environment, Audi is extending the Emissions Control Systems Warranty to cover cleaning of the engine cylinder head secondary air ports to remove carbon buildup under specific conditions to 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's original in-service date for certain 2009-12 Model Year Audi vehicles with 3.2L engine, and certain 2009-2013 Model Year Audi vehicles with 3.0T engines. The vehicle's original in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a "demonstrator" or "company" car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service. The warranty extension is fully transferable to subsequent owners. Audi has determined that under certain driving conditions, carbon buildup can occur in the engine cylinder head secondary airports. Due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this carbon buildup, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster may illuminate. The MIL is part of the on-board diagnostic system. In some locales, an illuminated MIL could cause the vehicle to fail an IM emissions inspection, vehicle registration application could be denied. Audi will diagnose, and if necessary clean the engine cylinder head secondary air ports to remove the carbon buildup at no cost to the customer as long as the vehicle is within the time and mileage limits of the warranty extension. This warranty extension covers only the diagnosis and cleaning of the cylinder head secondary air ports to remove the carbon buildup. Reimbursement is applicable only to the repairs described in this Warranty Bulletin.
Campaign Circula2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. In some vehicles, corrosion can form in the differential pressure sensor, causing the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) to come on. If the MIL is on because of this issue, a vehicle will not pass an IM (emissions) inspection. In some vehicles under certain driving conditions, the MIL may come on due to an issue with the Engine Control Module (ECM) software. If the MIL is on because of this issue, the vehicle will not pass an IM (emissions) inspection. Update ECM software and/or replace the differential pressure sensor.
Customer Letter2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Audi has determined that, under certain driving conditions, carbon buildup can occur in the engine cylinder head secondary air ports. Due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this carbon buildup, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster may illuminate. The MIL is part of your on-board diagnostic system. Please refer to your owner's manual for additional information about the MIL. In some locales, an illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp could cause your vehicle to fail an IM emissions inspection, and your vehicle registration application could be denied. Please be aware that other conditions (unrelated to the issue described in this letter) may cause the MIL in your vehicle to illuminate. Customers should be prepared to cover all diagnosis and repair costs for these other, unrelated conditions.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
