Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

1440203383622022-08-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Beginning with MY2009, the filler necks of various TDI clean diesel vehicles were equipped with a misfueling guard (Figure 1). The guard minimizes the likelihood that fuel other than ultra-low sulfur diesel will be put into the vehicle. The misfueling guard is designed to remain in a locked position when a nozzle with a diameter typically suited for non-diesel fuels (approximately 13/16?, or 20.6mm) is inserted, to prevent further insertion of the nozzle into the filler neck. A nozzle with a larger diameter typically suited for diesel fuel (approximately 15/16?, or 23.8mm) will unlock the misfueling guard when inserted, allowing the nozzle to be further inserted into the filler neck.
1475203666822022-08-01. Service bulletin. STEERING; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; SERVICE BRAKES. When diagnosing a MIL on, no-start, or rough running concern on a common rail diesel vehicle, and no root cause is found after checking all other components and following all GFF diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to check for metallic particles in the High Pressure Fuel Pump.

A261526 2038295-2018-03-13. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 26 number 14-24 dated September 16, 2014. There are ?Refill AdBlue? warnings in the cluster. The warnings appear approximately 1,500 - 2,500 miles after the last top-off. When the AdBlue tank is refilled, the vehicle will only accept approximately 1 - 2 gallons of reductant. When checked manually, the active tank is 50% full or less and the passive tank is full. There are no reductant system fault codes stored. If any reductant system fault codes are stored, this TSB does not apply. The reducing agent transfer pump V436 may be faulty. The vehicle cannot pump AdBlue from the passive tank to the active tank. Cars in hot weather regions are more prone to this issue.

A011379 2023360-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 11-18 dated January 25, 2011. MIL on. DTC P0087 (Rail fuel pressure too low) or DTC P0088 (Rail fuel pressure too high) stored in the memory of the engine control module (ECM), J623 (01). Excess rattling ("diesel clatter") coming from engine. No start or hard starting condition. Loss of power while driving due to fuel system contamination. Contaminated fuel found in fuel system. Rust or metal debris found in fuel system. Contaminated or incorrect fuel can cause performance, drivability, and/or fuel delivery problems. Rust or metallic debris found in the fuel system indicates a major component failure. Additional component replacement may be necessary to ensure that no contamination or debris remains after repair. Reasons for fuel contamination can include water ingress in the gas station?s holding tanks, errors made in fuel transport, and incorrect fuel being dispensed into the vehicle via the customer or service station (full service) employees.

A171568 2028440-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-49 dated April 3, 2014. When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer.
