Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi Q5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A211313 2031245-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 21 number 13-12 dated April 1, 2013. MIL on, DTC P0299 (Negative Pressure Deviation) is stored. Turbocharger waste gate flap has play. Under certain driving conditions, the linkage for the waste gate actuation can encounter excessive wear which leads to play at the waste gate flap. This leads to boost escaping through a loose flap, which sets DTC P0299 (Negative Pressure Deviation).
A211312 2031245-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 21 number 13-11 dated March 6, 2013.
A191336 2033491-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Customer may report coolant leaking from the engine area. The leak can be traced to the connection of the water pump and the hose leading to the heater core. The seal ring is not the cause of the leak.
A011386 2033630-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ENGINE. MIL on. Rough idle. DTCs are stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced.
A001348 2002047-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 11-19 dated April 8, 2011. This TSB contains information on technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center

A011372 2033211-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Customer may report MIL on and loss of performance. Under extreme driving conditions (e.g. long idle periods or extended stop and go traffic), high temperatures build up in the rail system and can lead to steam bubbles in the fuel. This causes temporary drops in fuel pressure, causing DTC P008700 (fuel rail pressure too low) to be stored. Freeze frame data will indicate those extreme driving conditions: coolant temperature is above 102? C.
A011373 2033223-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The engine warning light is on after engine replacement. The engine is not running roughly. However, the engine control module, J623 (01), is storing one or more of the following engine misfire fault codes: DTCs P0300 - P0304. The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position. The programmed values for the misfiring recognition are not automatically reset by deleting the memory once.
A011374 2033211-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:FUEL RAIL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-72 dated March 5, 2013. C.
A011378 2033379-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. DTC P164D00 (Oil pressure switch for reduced oil pressure malfunction) is stored in the engine control module, J623 (01). Red oil pressure warning light may be on. An oil filter that is too short is installed. The oil filter must be 155 mm.
A011381 2033211-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-74 dated March 12, 2013. Customer may report MIL on and loss of performance. Under extreme driving conditions (e.g. long idle periods or extended stop and go traffic), high temperatures can build up in the rail system and may lead to fluctuations in fuel pressure, possibly causing DTC P008700 (fuel rail pressure too low) to be stored. Coolant temperature above 102°C in the freeze frame data can be an indicator of those extreme driving conditions.
A011382 2033211-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-81 dated March 28, 2013.

Issues with the hardware and software.
A571385 2017082-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 13-82 dated February 5, 2013. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders.
A571386 2027368-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12-73 dated September 24, 2012. The exterior door handle touch sensors (Advanced key) are inoperative on one or several doors. The key blade can be used mechanically (driver door or trunk) or remote electrically (key remote buttons) to unlock and lock the vehicle.
A571387 2029151-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12-80 dated November 9, 2012. The door cannot be opened from outside with the outer door handle, but it can be opened with the inner handle. The complaint is often described as follows: The customer locks the vehicle and checks by pulling the door handle whether the vehicle is locked. When opening the vehicle again, the door cannot be opened. It feels as if the handle is slack.
A911377 2032966-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-75 dated February 7, 2013. Customer concern is that there is no sound (from all audio sources) when vehicle is operated above 6 to 10 mph. When the ignition is cycled and the vehicle is stationary, the audio will work until the vehicle is driven again. Only vehicles with Concert Radio (PR 8UQ) and standard sound system (PR 9VD) are affected.
A911380 2032706-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-73 dated January 25, 2013. Customer complains of a "popping" noise from the radio followed by 10-15 seconds of no audio. The concern can happen in any audio source. Vehicle is equipped with MMI 3G or MMI 3G+ infotainment systems. Vehicle is not equipped with Bose or Bang & Olufsen sound systems. An ignition cycle is not required for audio to resume. The problem originates in the HD radio code, which can create a "resetting" within the radio unit. Because the tuner is always active in the background, the problem can occur regardless of the audio source or if the HD radio is on or off. It can also occur at any point that the MMI is on, but not necessarily active. For example, the customer opens a door and the MMI starts up. Even though the system is not ?on? because the ignition is not active, the tuner is running and can create the effect.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
