Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q5
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A281321 2017555- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 28 number 12-19 dated May 1, 2012. The master key with remote control does not engage or stay in the ignition lock. On vehicles without Advanced Key, the remote keys are inoperable. Keyless unlocking/locking using the door handle and keyless opening of the trunk lid using the trunk handle are inoperable. The vehicle cannot be started with the Start/Stop button. The remote keys are inoperable. The message "ignition lock faulty" may appear in the instrument cluster driver information display. DTC 00166 (Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- Incorrect Signal) may be stored in Comfort System Central Control Module J393 (address word 46). It is possible that objects have been inserted into the ignition lock, which causes the slide of the ignition lock to become stuck in the rear part of the lock (S-contact position). The stuck slide is not allowed to return to the starting point (0-position). |

| A011386 2033630- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ENGINE. MIL on. Rough idle. DTCs are stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced. |
| A001348 2002047- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 11-19 dated April 8, 2011. This TSB contains information on technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center |
| A911526 2042097- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The traffic feature in the MMI navigation is inoperative. If the vehicle is a model year 2016 A6 or A7, see TSB 2042013: 91 Audi connect online destination search, Google Earth navigation view, or INRIX online traffic is not available. There is a known server issue that can only be resolved through a change to the Audi AG backend server. Audi has changed traffic providers over the years as new technologies have developed. This bulletin provides an overview of the different systems and the basic checks that can be performed to diagnose complaints related to traffic in the MMI navigation system. |
| A001578 2021205- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 10-05 dated June 14, 2010. VIN plate and/or B-Pillar Safety Certification label requires replacement. |
| A871342 2020124- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-37 dated November 16, 2012. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Audi Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of the vehicle electrical system control module. The vehicle electrical system control module transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to the climate control module, J255. |
| A911387 2024683- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 10-68 dated October 26, 2010. The MMI control knob joystick is loose or has fallen off. Only vehicles with navigation and without MMI touch are affected. |
| A641225 2027837- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 64 number 12-19 dated March 5, 2012. The customer may report noises when operating the window or noises from inside the door when driving on rough roads. When lowering the window, it collides with the clip that holds the window guide cable. This causes the clip to open and contact the window during operation, or rattle while driving on rough roads. |
| A661226 2031853- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Customer hears wind noise coming from the top of the vehicle while driving with the roof carrier bars installed. When the roof carrier bars are installed on the vehicle the acoustic environment in the cabin is predictably affected. The intent of the roof carrier bars is solely for the transport of cargo. When installed an increase in wind noise should be expected. |
| A871234 2024644- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-31 dated September 5, 2012. Moisture in the driver or front passenger foot well. Due to a faulty and / or incorrectly installed condensation drain hose, condensation from the evaporator could enter the front foot well areas through a gap between the body and the sealing surface of the drain hose. |
| A941296 2027773- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-69 dated March 15, 2012. Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles with LED DRLs. For vehicles with halogen DRLs, please reference TSB 2017488, 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only. |
| A571275 2019733- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11 ? 59 dated October 21, 2011. The outer door seals have become partially detached. Loss of adhesion between the door structure and door seal due to a flaw in the attachment process in production. |
| A571277 2019733- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12 ? 75 dated October 3, 2012. The outer door seals have become partially detached. Loss of adhesion between the door structure and door seal due to a flaw in the attachment process in production. |
| A851209 2029243- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 85 number 12 ? 08 dated August 17, 2012. Customer may report the front of the passenger floor mat is wet after heavy rains. The flat surface of the fresh air intake may warp over time and cause a gap where it meets with the plenum wall. During heavy rains, water can back up and enter the vehicle through this gap. |
| A911263 2021151- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle. |
| A901238 2032113- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc. |
| A961485 2027416- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-61 dated May 28, 2013. The sunglass holder in the dome light assembly will not latch closed. The sunglass holder spring latch mechanism may have been damaged during the assembly procedure. |
| A911455 2024683- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-87 dated June 19, 2013. The MMI control knob joystick is loose or has fallen off. Only vehicles with navigation and without MMI touch are affected. |

Customer may report that cracking, grinding, rattling, humming, whining, or similar interference is coming from one or more speakers. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices. |
| A001467 2002047- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 14-61 dated May 1, 2014. Technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC). |
| A001463 2033576- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 13-49 dated May 14, 2013. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage. |
| A911437 2030947- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-92 dated July 16, 2013. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call because it assumes that the phone is not responding. |
| A911435 2026895- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-19 dated January 3, 2014.
