Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

1305 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

A461348 2034404-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 53 number 13-02 dated July 11, 2013. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start due to a discharged battery. DTC U101100 (supply voltage too low) is stored in the gateway, J533 (address word 19), and/or the electronic parking brake (EPB) control module, J540 (address word 53). According to the test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", the EPB control module kept the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. The EPB switch appears to be permanently operating (applying or releasing the parking brake) due to an internal mechanical issue or because it is jammed or blocked by debris or by a foreign object. Test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", identifies the EPB control module as keeping the data bus active for prolonged periods of time.
A461347 2034387-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated.
A371309 2028715-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-40 dated February 28, 2012. Rough gear changes, both when accelerating and when slowing down. There is a rough driving power disruption that occurs sporadically and lasts for less than a second. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted.
A191343 2034439-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The coolant warning light is illuminated. Coolant is leaking from the front intercooler radiator because of stone damage to the radiator. When vehicles are driven on gravel roads, there is a greater chance of front-end stone impact damage to the intercooler radiator.
A961352 2028809-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-47 dated January 22, 2013. Customer complains that Audi Side Assist is providing false warnings (no vehicle is present). Concern may or may not be duplicated. No DTCs are present in the Audi Side Assist system. Software fault.
A941306 2017806-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-79 dated June 6, 2012. Light bulb warning light and the message Vehicle lights: malfunction is displayed in the instrument cluster display. DTC 03280 (Light switch position implausible signal) is stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (09). Exterior lights are functioning properly. If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and remains there, the light bulb warning light and the error message appear after approximately ten seconds. Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 is changed to sporadic. After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTC is automatically cleared.
A911374 2024323-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated October 1, 2012. Parking aid sporadically warns of obstacles when none exist. Parking aid is inoperative or provides constant warning. Various parking aid sensor fitting issues. Environmental conditions.
A871340 2029136-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-35 dated November 14, 2012. The customer may report that after selecting a specific temperature in AUTO mode, the resulting airflow and temperature are uncomfortable. The customer complaint is subjective and may be difficult to diagnose during a road test. Please test drive with the customer before as well as after this repair to ensure a thorough understanding of the customer's concern. At certain outside temperatures and operating conditions, the temperature in the passenger compartment fluctuates. This is caused by the unventilated sensor in the air conditioning control panel. There may also be DTCs stored for mechanical malfunction of one or more air distribution control motors in (08) air conditioning/heating control unit.
A571382 2017082-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11-55 dated August 22, 2011. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders.
A481336 2033044-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. STEERING; STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. The customer states they have a comfort concern about the steering system. The steering works correctly but intermittently feels notchy. There is no loss of steering functionality. The concern may be more apparent in colder weather, and may improve with warmth or an ignition key cycle. No DTC is stored and no warning appears in the cluster. This PSS TSB applies only to the comfort concern described in the condition of this PSS TSB. Please refer to the attached Information and Q&A document for guidance when handling each case. A solution is in development and will be made available as soon as possible. The steering wheel is mechanically linked to the wheels of the vehicle, and there is no loss of steering functionality. Refer to the attached Information and Q&A document for guidance when handling each case.

The yellow steering symbol is illuminated in the instrument cluster. DTC C10ACFO (steering end stops not programmed) is logged in the power steering control unit, J500 (44). The power steering control unit, J500 (44), expects to receive a VIN message over the data bus shortly after terminal 15 is turned on. If the VIN message is not received at the expected time, the power steering control unit assumes it has been installed in a new vehicle and discards the programmed end position values.
A441336 2022563-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-35 dated January 18, 2013. Customer feels vibration from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h) in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not result in any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control.

A171336 2030197-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 12-34 dated December 12, 2012. Customer complains of excessive oil consumption. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner's Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, the ambient temperature, and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Under certain driving conditions, internal engine pressure conditions in the 3.0 TFSI engine can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This can occur while the vehicle is operated in city driving conditions, for example: stop and go traffic with extended idle periods.
A961355 2028809-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-52 dated February 25, 2013.
