The customer may report hearing a rattle sound coming from near the Head Up Display when driving over various road surfaces. The dimensional tolerances of the internal components of the Head Up Display may be in a condition that allows excessive clearance, and the possibility for a rattle noise. |
| A911268 2027718- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-53 dated August 6, 2012. The driver? s voice is difficult to clearly understand by the caller on the other end of the call when using the Bluetooth hands-free telephone system. The driver? s voice sounds muffled, as if you are hearing them while under water. The microphone seal is damaged during installation in to the roof module. |
| A911269 2031664- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. While entering the car using Audi Advanced Key, the doors will not unlock. When pushing the start button, ? Key Not Recognized? shows in the Driver Information Display. No relevant DTCs stored in any modules. Battery voltage of keys used by customer is at or above 3.0V. Concern may or may not be duplicated. A portion of A7 production was built with the incorrect antenna amplifiers in the vehicle, which causes sporadic operation of the keyless remote, espcially when paired with Audi Advanced Key. |
| A941296 2027773- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-69 dated March 15, 2012. Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles with LED DRLs. For vehicles with halogen DRLs, please reference TSB 2017488, 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only. |
| A941297 2028947- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-86 dated August 15, 2012. The warning is typically associated with the activation of the static cornering light during low speed turns, or when the turn signal is activated while at a stop. The fault disappears shortly after the cornering light turns off. Entries are logged in J519 (09 ? central electrics unit control unit). Only vehicles with full LED headlights (PR No 8EX or 8EY) are affected. Both headlights remain fully functional during this complaint and still comply with all applicable FMVSS standards. Software within the LED control module incorrectly calculates the current intensity of the headlight LEDs, leading to the DTC. |
| A001240 2031473- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Bristles from car wash are discovered between headlight and front fender. The vehicle design in the area around the headlights has a gap that, when the vehicle is washed in car washes having a particular bristle angle and type, can trap these bristles in this area, tear away from the mechanism and lodge in the gap between the headlight and fender. |
| A101209 2030197- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 12 ? 08 dated September 5, 2012. Engine oil consumption too high. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner?s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, the ambient temperature, and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Under certain driving conditions internal engine pressure conditions in the 3.0 TFSI engine can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions, for example: Stop and go traffic with extended idle periods. |
| A241245 2029340- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 12 ? 35 dated August 1, 2012. MIL on with one or more DTCs. DTC P112800 and/or P113000 or P008700 or P244000 and/or P244200 in ECM. |
| A271215 2031145- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 27 number 12-14 dated October 12, 2012. Complaints are reported by the customer regarding electrical features and functions in the vehicle. One or more warning lights on in cluster. The DIS or other displays in cluster are blank. MMI does not function. Windows do not function. LED indicators in various buttons inside the vehicle do not light up. The voltage regulator on the alternator can sporadically fail causing the electrical system to experience too high of voltage. As a result, the affected vehicle electronic components go in to high voltage protection and deactivate sensitive displays and indicators to prevent electrical damage. When an over voltage condition occurs the vehicle electronics and alternator are protected, thus there is no need to replace the entire alternator assembly. |
| A421215 2029953- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 42 number 12 ? 10 dated June 28, 2012. Cracking or clicking noises from the rear of the vehicle in the C pillar area when driving over bumps or rough roads. The noise comes from the upper shock absorber mounting. |
| A461226 2031135- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE; PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The customer may state the yellow warning for electric parking brake (EPB) appeared once in the instrument cluster, but the warning turned OFF after cycling the ignition and there have been no additional occurrences. The customer may state the adaptive cruise control (ACC) was inoperative once, but resumed operating properly after cycling the ignition and there have been no additional occurrences. DTC is stored in the EPB module. Internal code Param_InterFaultID 24 or 25 may be in the extended environmental conditions. The concern is due to a software glitch in the EPB control module. Concerns related to this software glitch can only occur once. Replacing the EPB module may cause an additional occurrence. |
| A481233 2027779- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-21 dated March 30, 2012. After replacing the electromechanical steering with the control unit J500, the unit cannot be coded via SVM spec/actual. |
| A481234 2029622- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-27 dated May 29, 2012. The yellow steering symbol is illuminated in the instrument cluster. A DTC C10ACFO ? steering end stops not programmed is stored in address word 44 power steering (J500). The steering control unit J500 expects to receive a VIN message over the data bus shortly after terminal 15 is turned on. If the VIN message is not received at the expected time, the J500 assumes it has been installed in a new vehicle and discards the programmed end position values. |
| A571276 2030580- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12 ? 68 dated August 20, 2012. The vehicle cannot be started sporadically. The yellow gearbox warning light may be illuminated. Entries are logged in the respected modules. The remote key the customer is using is transmitting incomplete immobilizer information to the vehicle; resulting in the condition. |
| A901235 2030903- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 12 ? 34 dated September 21, 2012. When driving, various warning lights come on, sometimes with restricted functions in the electric system. These complaints only occur together with complaints or a failure of the MMI 3G+ infotainment system. After an ignition cycle the complaint is typically gone; therefore, it may not be reproducible. Sporadic DTCs may be present for communication errors, restricted functions, or missing/incorrect messages. If the MMI 3G+ has an issue, the data bus control unit (Gateway) tries to maintain the communication to the MMI. The load on the unit is so high that other messages on the bus systems cannot be processed any more. As a remedy, modified software can be installed on the Gateway which does not communicate to the MMI 3G+ when it is unavailable. |
| A901236 2029843- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 12 ? 29 dated June 15, 2012. The customer may report hearing a rattle sound coming from near the Heads up Display when driving over various road surfaces. The dimensional tolerances of the internal components of the Heads up Display may be in a condition that allows excessive clearance, and the possibility for a rattle noise. |
| A911263 2021151- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle. |
| A911265 2030465- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-59 dated September 24, 2012. MMI system randomly freezes and/or resets. DVD Changer playback inoperative after bus sleep (A8 only). HD Radio does not playback in stereo. HD Radio experiences poor blending between digital and analog signals. Google Earth does not properly update the maps after leaving an area of 2G or poor cellular reception. The lower MMI display flickers when an iPod is connected and the Function or Settings menu is selected and the vehicle is stationary. Bluetooth® will not automatically reconnect to certain iPhone models after vehicle sleep. Surround settings are lost after ignition cycle (vehicles equipped with BOSE® sound systems only). This bulletin only applies to vehicles with Navigation Plus (PR Number 8DY). The applicable vehicles can be clearly identified by the SIM card slot on the faceplate of the front MMI mainunit. Continual improvements to MMI software provides solutions to issues experienced in the field. |
| A941292 2012749- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 11-52 dated October 11, 2011. Condensation is visible on the inside of the headlight, taillight, fog light, side marker light, front turn signal, daytime running lights, or third brake light lens. Damp air settles on the inside of a cold lens, which creates condensation. The headlight circulation system allows air from the outside to flow through the headlights. This open waterprotected ventilation system (needed for pressure compensation) creates different climate zones in the headlight: very warm areas, where the lens is warmed up by the light, and relatively cool areas, where the lens is cooled own by the air flow. Considerable differences in humidity and temperature between the inside and the outside of the headlights, even while driving, can lead to condensation. This is especially true in cold and wet weather, but it can also happen after a car wash, after steam cleaning the engine or the front end, with overnight temperature changes, etc. This phenomenon is more visible on lenses made of clear glass than on lenses with patterns. The moisture does not affect the headlight function (light performance) and does not lead to corrosion or other damage to headlight parts. |
| A941293 2031378- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:SWITCH. Cap on dimmer (light switch) has fallen off and cannot be found. |
