Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A011260 2030580- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12-76 dated October 4, 2012. The vehicle cannot be started sporadically. The yellow gearbox warning light may be illuminated. DTC's are logged. The remote key the customer is using is transmitting incomplete immobilizer information to the vehicle; resulting in the condition. |
| A011261 2027732- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-59 dated November 20, 2012. MIL on. DTC P0456 (very small EVAP leak) stored in ECM. No leaks found in the EVAP system. Software update needed. |
| A011262 2029340- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 12-45 dated October 1, 2012. MIL on with one or more DTCs. The faults listed can occur under certain driving conditions. This is caused by an incorrect software setting. In some scenarios such as extended idling or heavy stop and go traffic, this could cause a slight misinterpretation of the data and possibly an activation of the Malfunction Indicator Light. |
| A011263 2031458- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-58 dated November 5, 2012. MIL on, with DTCs stored in the 01 (Engine Control Module). Under extreme driving conditions, such as a driving profile of mainly short distance (stop and go) driving high crankcase pressure can lead to the above described DTC codes. By changing the crankcase pressure valve to a lower operating pressure this condition can be improved and eliminate the mentioned possible DTC codes. Along with the crankcase pressure being lowered, a new ECM software level is required to compensate for new crankcase pressure. |
| A171234 2030197- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 12-33 dated November 21, 2012. Engine oil consumption too high. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner? s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, the ambient temperature, and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Under certain driving conditions internal engine pressure conditions in the 3.0 TFSI engine can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions, for example: Stop and go traffic with extended idle periods. |
| A371277 2029027- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-67 dated September 28, 2012. Customer may report gearbox warning light on. In some cases after starting vehicle and placing into gear the vehicle would not move. After key cycle the vehicle drives without restriction. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 8692 can be logged in the following situation: After selecting Neutral, a driving mode (D or R) is selected within one second while the vehicle rolls (at under 2 mph). This can, for example, happen when maneuvering the vehicle into or from a parking area. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 8694 can be logged when quickly changing from P-N because of a low diagnosis threshold. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 12480 can be logged because of a low diagnosis threshold when changing gear with the tip function. |
| A901238 2032113- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc. |
| A911270 2032240- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. The Google Earth map will not load. The display shows an active data connection, and ? Google? is almost fully white. Customer has active Audi Connect subscription. All other Audi Connect functions operate normally. The concern only occurs if the vehicle is started in a 2G cellular zone. The system operates normally if started in a 3G cellular zone. The vehicle has MMI software 0566 installed. Certain Audi Connect partner carriers are transmitting data that is not supported by the MMI. The data disrupts the loading process of Google Earth and causes it to not completely load. |
| Audi TAC Technic | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; STEERING. This document contains the Audi TAC technical newsletter. The news letter contains information on the Audi TAC hours of operation, the Audi technical assistance survey, the 4.0 L V8 TFSI in the A8L, S6, S7, S8, and the power steering control unit. |

DTCs for mechanical malfunction of one or more air distribution control motors may be stored in the air conditioning/heating control unit, J255 (address word 08). At certain outside temperatures and in certain operating conditions, the temperature in the passenger compartment fluctuates. This fluctuation is caused by the unventilated sensor in the air conditioning control panel. |
