Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A171452 2038119- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-51 dated August 18, 2014. The message ?Oil minimum warning, add one quart of oil? appears in the instrument cluster, but the oil level is above the minimum level (when measured with special tool T40178). There are no DTCs related to oil level stored in the ECM memory. The oil level sensor is defective. |
| A911463 2028190- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-08 dated September 20, 2013. The customer would like to add a different navigation map database for countries outside of the USA or Canada. The customer would like to change the MMI system language to a different language that is not already supported by MMI. When a song is being played and the track information for that song contains foreign language characters, the driver information system (DIS) in the cluster correctly displays the characters, but the MMI display does not. |
| A011321 2027732- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-99 dated May 17, 2013. MIL on. | A461357 2031135- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 12-26 dated October 23, 2012. The yellow warning for electromechanical parking park (EPB) appeared once in the instrument cluster. The warning turned off after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. EPB function was not affected. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) was inoperative once, but it resumed proper operation after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. DTCs are logged in the EPB control module. There is an issue with the software in the EPB control module that occurs one time. Because the issue only occurs once, replacing the control module could cause an additional occurrence. |
| A481350 2033377- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 13-40 dated March 18, 2013. Customer states the vertical adjustment of the steering column does not work or works intermittently. Concern may or may not be duplicated. Software issues causing sporadic failure of the power steering column vertical adjustment. |
| A801304 2033806- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 13-03 dated May 13, 2013. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Climate system heating performance is insufficient. Coolant level warning is on. Engine temperature is elevated. "Limp Home" mode is active. Faults are stored in the transmission control module. Coolant loss is found from one or more control valves: N82, N509, or N488. Coolant may have migrated into the wiring harness through the connector and into various control units. Climate system heating performance is insufficient due to coolant loss, or due to a faulty N82 control valve. Inspection of the coolant control valves N82, N509, or N488 reveals the presence of coolant inside the electrical connector. The connectors, wiring harness, and/or connected control units may have been damaged from exposure to coolant. |
| Dealer Letter - | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. This communication is to inform you of upcoming Update 53B6. A drain valve was not fitted at the rear on affected Audi A7 vehicles manufactured within a specific period. Install a drain valve in the battery tray. |
| A971336 2034322- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:HORN; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. The vehicle alarm activates for no reason and it cannot be turned off. The alarm horn does not work. TC/fault symptom combinations are found in the comfort system control module, J393 (address word 46). The DTC can be static or sporadic. The wiring harness insulation for the alarm horn can be damaged during the vehicle production assembly. Because the cable is routed through the plenum chamber, water can enter into the cable via the damaged insulation. The water causes the alarm to activate for no reason or it causes the alarm horn to not work. |
| A911392 2030947- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated September 25, 2012. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone gets the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call assuming the phone is not responding. |
| A531302 2034404- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start due to a discharged battery. DTC U101100 (supply voltage too low) is stored in the gateway, J533 (address word 19), and/or the electronic parking brake (EPB) control module, J540 (address word 53). According to the test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", the EPB control module kept the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. The EPB switch appears to be permanently operating (applying or releasing the parking brake) due to an internal mechanical issue or because it is jammed or blocked by debris or by a foreign object. Test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", identifies the EPB control module as keeping the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. |
| A461348 2034404- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 53 number 13-02 dated July 11, 2013. |
| A461347 2034387- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated. |
| A961352 2028809- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-47 dated January 22, 2013. Customer complains that Audi Side Assist is providing false warnings (no vehicle is present). Concern may or may not be duplicated. No DTCs are present in the Audi Side Assist system. Software fault. |
