Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi A6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-42 dated April 30, 2014. The GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the navigation map does not match the actual vehicle?s location or actual direction of travel. The condition can happen sporadically or consistently. The condition does not happen during or immediately following the initial PDI inspection (once the vehicle has been taken out of transport mode). It is normal for the satellite reception to be 0 immediately after taking the vehicle out of transport mode. With the ignition off, the vehicle must sit in open sky view for 10-15 minutes before a GPS fix can be obtained. The vehicle is a Model Year 2013. |
| A911463 2028190- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-08 dated September 20, 2013. The customer would like to add a different navigation map database for countries outside of the USA or Canada. The customer would like to change the MMI system language to a different language that is not already supported by MMI. When a song is being played and the track information for that song contains foreign language characters, the driver information system (DIS) in the cluster correctly displays the characters, but the MMI display does not. |
| A451409 2038770- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The ESP warning light may be on in the instrument cluster. DTC B200047 (Control unit faulty) is stored in the sensor electronics control module, J849 (address word 3B). With software level 0053, the J849 control module may store DTC B200047 even though the control unit is not faulty. |
| A461357 2031135- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 12-26 dated October 23, 2012. The yellow warning for electromechanical parking park (EPB) appeared once in the instrument cluster. The warning turned off after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. EPB function was not affected. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) was inoperative once, but it resumed proper operation after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. DTCs are logged in the EPB control module. There is an issue with the software in the EPB control module that occurs one time. Because the issue only occurs once, replacing the control module could cause an additional occurrence. |
| A801304 2033806- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 13-03 dated May 13, 2013. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Climate system heating performance is insufficient. Coolant level warning is on. Engine temperature is elevated. "Limp Home" mode is active. Faults are stored in the transmission control module. Coolant loss is found from one or more control valves: N82, N509, or N488. Coolant may have migrated into the wiring harness through the connector and into various control units. Climate system heating performance is insufficient due to coolant loss, or due to a faulty N82 control valve. Inspection of the coolant control valves N82, N509, or N488 reveals the presence of coolant inside the electrical connector. The connectors, wiring harness, and/or connected control units may have been damaged from exposure to coolant. |
| A971336 2034322- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:HORN; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. The vehicle alarm activates for no reason and it cannot be turned off. The alarm horn does not work. TC/fault symptom combinations are found in the comfort system control module, J393 (address word 46). The DTC can be static or sporadic. The wiring harness insulation for the alarm horn can be damaged during the vehicle production assembly. Because the cable is routed through the plenum chamber, water can enter into the cable via the damaged insulation. The water causes the alarm to activate for no reason or it causes the alarm horn to not work. |
| A911392 2030947- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated September 25, 2012. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone gets the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call assuming the phone is not responding. |
| A531302 2034404- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start due to a discharged battery. DTC U101100 (supply voltage too low) is stored in the gateway, J533 (address word 19), and/or the electronic parking brake (EPB) control module, J540 (address word 53). According to the test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", the EPB control module kept the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. The EPB switch appears to be permanently operating (applying or releasing the parking brake) due to an internal mechanical issue or because it is jammed or blocked by debris or by a foreign object. Test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", identifies the EPB control module as keeping the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. |
| A461348 2034404- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 53 number 13-02 dated July 11, 2013. |
| A461347 2034387- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated. |
| A001351 2031850- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 13-46 dated March 13, 2013. | A941306 2017806- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-79 dated June 6, 2012. Light bulb warning light and the message Vehicle lights: malfunction is displayed in the instrument cluster display. DTC 03280 (Light switch position implausible signal) is stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (09). Exterior lights are functioning properly. If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and remains there, the light bulb warning light and the error message appear after approximately ten seconds. Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 is changed to sporadic. After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTC is automatically cleared. |
