Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A001349 2033576-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.
A211421 2039006-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 21 number 14-20 dated November 17, 2014. MIL on. Customer may report a reduction in power. DTC P029900 (Turbo/Super Charger Underboost) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). The circlip connecting the turbo wastegate actuator rod and the wastegate flap lever can fall of due to low tension of the clip. Consequently, the wastegate linkage becomes disconnected, causing MIL on and DTC P029900.
A211420 2039006-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. MIL on. Customer may report a reduction in power. A191453 2039018-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A small amount of dry or crusted coolant is seen on the coolant pump housing. The coolant level warning is not on. A minor coolant leak is possible during the break-in phase of the coolant seal on the coolant pump. The dry coolant marks are normal.
A171453 2038129-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-50 dated August 15, 2014. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. Because of a system change, the adjustment values for the service dipstick T40178 were removed from the repair manual.
A661443 2038652-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 14-42 dated October 9, 2014. The paint is flaking off of the radiator grille or front license plate holder. The surfaces of these components were too smooth (due to high-gloss polishing tools), which led to weak adhesion of the paint during production. Only components with color index T94 are affected.

A201441 2035073-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 20 number 14-34 dated June 26, 2014. MIL on. DTC P045600 (EVAP System Leak Detected NVLD (very small leak)) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Drivability is not affected. The NVLD pressure switch may erroneously detect a very small leak.
A011498 2038166-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The engine warning light is on after engine replacement. The engine is not running roughly. However, fault codes are stored in the engine control module (ECM). The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position. The programmed values for the misfire adaption are not automatically reset when the memory is deleted. The adaption must be reset after the engine is installed.
A261319 2027945-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 26 number 13-18 dated May 22, 2013. Humming or metallic rattling noise from under the vehicle, heard most consistently during engine idle or slow acceleration. Initial inspection indicates that the noise is coming from the exhaust system. Relative movements in the rear mounting of the exhaust system (rear silencer).
Dealer Letter -2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This communication is to inform you of upcoming Update 24Z6. On Audi vehicles with a 3.0L TFSI engine produced during a certain period, it is possible that the membrane on the vacuum actuator for the intake manifold flaps may tear. As a result, the intake manifold flaps do not function and the engine indicator light turns on. Install new manifold actuators.
Dealer Letter-Up2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This communication is to inform you of a revision to Update 24Z6. The revision is in regards to the manifold actuator.
Update Bulletin2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. On Audi vehicles with a 3.0L TFSI engine produced during a certain period, it is possible that the membrane on the vacuum actuator for the intake manifold flaps may tear. As a result, the intake manifold flaps do not function and the engine indicator light turns on. This Update is in effect until removed. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 24Z6 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. Vehicle must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin. Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale. A011386 2033630-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ENGINE. MIL on. Rough idle. DTCs are stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced.
A171338 2012913-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 10-07 dated June 3, 2010. Oil filter cartridge requires replacement.

A971441 2036764-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The MIL is on. Vehicle will not start. DTC P068A00 is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Numerous unrelated DTCs are also stored in the system. The motronic engine control module power supply relay, J271, is not functioning properly. Because the J271 relay controls battery voltage (Terminal 30) via a ground signal sent from the ECM, numerous faults can occur in multiple control modules when it is not functioning properly.
