Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi A5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

26 13 17 20279452022-05-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Humming or metallic rattling noise from under the vehicle, heard most consistently during engine idle or slow acceleration. Initial inspection indicates that the noise is coming from the exhaust system. Relative movements in the rear mounting of the exhaust system (rear silencer).
37 14 31 20130022022-05-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:FLUID/LUBRICANT:SEALS/GASKETS. As the sump pan gasket settles, the torque of the bolts decreases and the seal may leak. Automatic transmission fluid is leaking at the sump pan gasket.
37 14 30 20036582022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC):CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).
37 13 81 20211932022-05-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE; STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION); POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION. Because of an unfavorable adjustment between engine and gearbox, vehicle can shudder under certain driving conditions when changing from second to first gear.
37 13 09 20287152022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:GEARS. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted.
34 13 13 20286502022-05-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Customer states constant howling, droning, or scraping noises heard from the front of the vehicle when accelerating lightly. The ball bearing for the left flange shaft spins in the gearbox housing because of a gap between the outer bearing ring and the support bracket. This can result in grinding marks and swarf (Figure 1, Figure 2).
30 13 18 20282292022-05-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. There may be clutch mechanism wear. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start or only starts when the clutch pedal is pressed very firmly. The message ?Press clutch pedal to start vehicle? may appear in the instrument cluster.
A301519 2019850-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 30 number 11-10 dated December 2, 2011. Clutch is not operating properly. Clutch has a burnt smell. Clutch pedal does not fully return to starting position. Incorrect shifting, the revolutions of clutch plate and engine input shaft differ too much, excessive slipping of the clutch, and when the clutch is pressed and an incorrect lower gear is selected, can result in clutch damage.
A301722 2019850-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. This technical service bulletin provides guidelines for diagnosing the clutch plate.
A371311 2021193-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 13-81 dated January 16, 2013. Vehicle shudders briefly before a stop. Gearbox downshift uncomfortable at low speeds. At speeds below 6 mph, the vehicle shudders briefly when coming to a stop. Because of an unfavorable adjustment between engine and gearbox, the vehicle can shudder under certain driving conditions when changed from second to first gear.
A371309 2028715-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-40 dated February 28, 2012. Rough gear changes, both when accelerating and when slowing down. There is a rough driving power disruption that occurs sporadically and lasts for less than a second.
