Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A4 allroad

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Normal Load Cond2017-10-31. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; TIRES. This document contains the Audi normal load condition tire pressure table.
A911314 2013790-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11-25 dated November 29, 2011. The navigation DVD or other CD/DVD cannot be ejected. There are no DTCs stored in the corresponding module. The eject button is not stuck. When the eject button is pushed, the drive does not sound as if it is trying to eject the CD/DVD. Vehicles with DVD-based navigation systems now have the navigation DVD installed during production. To prevent theft of the DVD during transportation, the eject button of the navigation drive is disabled. The navigation system itself (e.g., route guidance) functions as specified. The eject buttons of vehicles without DVD-based navigation systems are not disabled during production, but could behave as described in the Condition section of this bulletin. The eject button can be enabled through Guided Fault Finding.
A901342 2035902-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION. "Ignition lock faulty" message is displayed in the driver information display with the symbol shown at right. DTCs are stored in the comfort system central control unit. The "ignition lock faulty" message can be triggered by many different DTC entries. Presence of the message does not indicate that the ignition switch is faulty; the message typically has a different root cause. Replacing the ignition switch before completing GFF test plans typically does not correct the condition.
A741316 2035814-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. The armrest will not operate in any direction. The height adjustment of the armrest will not engage or remain in position, or may become stuck in one position during height adjustment. If the armrest slides past its limit and the rods are pulled out of the armrest , it is because the retention of the bracket is insufficient. The armrest bracket is under tension because the guide plate has fallen loose from the bracket or the return spring has slipped from its original position.

A551333 2035797-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; SUSPENSION. The customer complains of hearing a creaking or knocking noise from the front of the vehicle when the vehicle is twisted, such as when being driven into or out of a driveway. The customer may describe the location of the noise source as the front suspension area. This type of noise may be caused by the contact between the hood height adjustment stop buffers and the lock carrier. While noises originating from the front of the vehicle may have a number of causes, the repair described below will eliminate this possible cause.
A441344 2022563-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-42 dated September 27, 2013. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration while driving at highway speeds from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h). This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic.
A441343 2030194-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-41 dated September 26, 2013. Complaints of steering wheel vibration and/or steering wheel oscillation at a speed range of 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h), on vehicles with very low mileage or at PDI. The condition does not result in any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. Vehicles have original factory-installed wheels and tires.
A201328 2035073-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 20 number 13-27 dated October 16, 2013. MIL on. A171347 2035463-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 13-44 dated October 22, 2013. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine, and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner?s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, and the ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors include the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Utilizing the advanced sensor technology integrated in models equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine, it is possible to measure oil consumption electronically via a Guided Function test plan. If the electronic oil consumption test is not available for this model, perform the test with the conventional scale/oil weighing method. See TSB 2018550 for instructions for the conventional scale/oil weighing method.

Customer complains that Audi Side Assist is providing false warnings (no vehicle is present). Concern may or may not be duplicated. No DTCs are present in the Audi Side Assist system. This condition occurs due to an incorrect hardware set created by the supplier.
A961379 2035047-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-77 dated September 23, 2013. Audi Lane Change Assistant deactivates or is sporadically inoperative when the vehicle is driven in slow-moving stop-and-go traffic, especially on roads with multiple lanes. The message "Audi side assist unavailable: Sensors blocked" appears in the driver information system. The system is able to be activated approximately ten minutes after the traffic condition is removed, or after an ignition cycle. DTCs are stored in the Lane Change Assistance control module. Audi Lane Change Assistant can be activated without issue. No obstructions can be found on the outside or inside of bumper. No re-work of the bumper can be found. The control module mounting brackets are securely fastened to the lower rear bumper, and no damage is found on the inside or on the outside rear bumper area. The control module mounting brackets are not broken or loose. In certain normal driving conditions, the Audi Side Assist system can automatically deactivate, and the driver information display shows the "sensors blocked" message. This is normal, as the nature of certain driving conditions can make it difficult for the Audi Side Assist system to track vehicles.
A911317 2035919-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). GPS inaccuracies can be caused by several different factors. If it is unclear if this PSS applies, submit a Technical Assistance Center ticket for additional instruction. Perform Spec Actual and attach the GFF log to the ticket. Customer states the navigation system is not tracking the vehicle correctly. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The issue occurs after the vehicle is parked overnight or for several hours in a parking garage or other similar enclosed space. A private home garage does not apply. The issue does not occur if the vehicle is parked overnight or for several hours in an open-sky environment. The condition continues for the duration of the drive. The issue only corrects itself with a 3-finger reset or during a vehicle sleep cycle. The vehicle is not a Q7 or A8. If the above conditions apply and the customer vehicle is a Q7 or A8, submit a Technical Assistance Center ticket for additional instruction. Perform Spec Actual and attach the GFF log to the ticket.

A441346 2010334-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. WHEELS:LUGS/NUTS/BOLTS/STUDS; WHEELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 12-32 dated August 2, 2012. Wheel bolt requires torque adjustment. Torque sticks, torque extension bars, and impact guns/wrenches are not approved by Audi of America, Inc., and should not be used to apply torque to wheel bolts. Always use a calibrated torque wrench to attain the correct wheel bolt torque and follow the proper wheel tightening procedure as outlined in Elsa. Proper use of a calibrated torque wrench ensures that all wheel bolts are tightened equally and reduces the chances of repeat repairs. Using methods other than a calibrated torque wrench to attain correct wheel bolt torque may lead to problems.
