Customer Only (Retail Sold) USA ONLY - The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board have determined that Audi A3 vehicles equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder TDI engine do not comply with applicable emissions regulations. The emissions control systems on the vehicles will not control emissions under off-cycle conditions as effectively as during the federal test procedure. The extent of the emissions increase under off-cycle conditions depends upon how the vehicles are driven. Criteria I.D. in Saga claiming instructions updated.

Dealer Letter -2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Effective immediately, the work procedure for Service Action 20U3 has been revised to include an owner supplement that must be provided to customers upon completion of this repair. An allocation of supplements was sent to your dealership in early September. If you need additional copies, please see the revised campaign circular for ordering instructions. An updated campaign circular has been posted to ServiceNet and will be visible in ElsaWeb shortly. Please ensure that everyone in your dealership with campaign-related responsibilities has been made aware of this updated information.

All systems on Audi vehicles are engineered to work together using the factory calibrations, which have been extensively tested and validated before the vehicle is released for sale. The Audi warranty coverage is based on the results of developing the vehicle under the factory calibration. If a vehicle is equipped with unauthorized hardware or software tuning, it can cause stress on vehicle components outside of intended design limits, and can cause damage and additional wear. Subsequently, factory powertrain warranty coverage is reduced or voided.

Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.
