Service bulletins for the 2017 Acura TLX

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

146 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

B170032017-09-27. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Service bulletin - The 8-Speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) has a bump or hard shift when coming to a stop, usually on the downshift from 2nd to 1st. This symptom is intermittent and may be difficult to duplicate. The PCM settings are not properly breaking-in the odd and even clutches.
B150392017-09-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Service bulletin - The transmission end cover leaks on vehicles with 9-speed A/T. During assembly, the transmission end cover sealing gasket gets torn.
B17070B2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Service news article - Because of a transmission case casting flaw, the inside of the torque converter bracket hole in some 9-speed A/Ts is porous enough that ATF could leak from the hole. This flaw was found by the transmission factory during production.
DLR MSG - Acura2017-08-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Dealer message - The METER reflash process for Cross Traffic Monitoring System inadvertently erases the idle characteristics learned by the PCM, and the HDS shows Idle Torque Learning as "Not Completed." The drivability symptoms which can result from this condition range from harsh 2-1 downshift, high rpm at idle, surging coming to a stop, and idle fluctuation.
BPaS060220179012017-07-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; SUSPENSION. Dealer message - American Honda (AHM) is investigating certain 2017 TLX AWDs with a client complaint of vibration at highway speed. To fully understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to inspect the vehicle prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.
B17040B2017-07-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DIFFERENTIAL UNIT; POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. Service news article - Are you looking at what seems to be a rear differential axle seal or pinion seal leak? Something to keep in mind: The actual culprit may be something loose or damaged above it. A loose or damaged fluid pressure sensor will drip rear differential fluid onto the axle seal. A loose fluid pressure check port will drip that fluid onto the pinion seal.
B17-0152017-06-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM).
B17040B2017-06-30. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL; POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DIFFERENTIAL UNIT. "SERVICE NEWS ARTICLE - ARE YOU LOOKING AT WHAT SEEMS TO BE A REAR DIFFERENTIAL AXLE SEAL OR PINION SEAL LEAK? SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND: THE ACTUAL CULPRIT MAY BE SOMETHING LOOSE OR DAMAGED ABOVE IT. A LOOSE OR DAMAGED FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR WILL DRIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID ONTO THE AXLE SEAL. A LOOSE FLUID PRESSURE CHECK PORT WILL DRIP THAT FLUID ONTO THE PINION SEAL."
B17010C2017-06-19. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:GEAR POSITION INDICATION (PRNDL); POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. "SERVICE NEWS ARTICLE - DO YOU HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS MULTIPLE INDICATORS ON OR WON’T GO INTO GEAR AND THE MIL IS ON WITH A/T DTC P26C3 (INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR PERFORMANCE)? THERE MAY BE DEBRIS IN THE REVERSE OR NEUTRAL SHIFT BUTTONS OF THE SHIFT BY WIRE (SBW) SHIFTER ASSEMBLY THAT’S CAUSING THEM TO STICK. TYPICAL DEBRIS ARE PARTICLES IN THE REVERSE SHIFT BUTTON OR STICKY RESIDUE IN THE NEUTRAL SHIFT BUTTON FROM SOMETHING THAT SPILLED."
B16120B2017-05-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. "SERVICE BULLETIN - IN A 9-SPEED A/T, THE ATF LEVEL IS CRITICAL. IF IT’S TOO HIGH, THE TRANSMISSION COULD SHIFT HARD. IF IT’S TOO LOW, THE TRANSMISSION COULD SLIP. THIS TRANSMISSION ALSO DOESN’T USE A DIPSTICK. TO CHECK THE ATF LEVEL, YOU NEED TO RUN A SPECIAL PROCEDURE. ALTHOUGH IT’S COVERED IN THE SERVICE INFORMATION, WE’RE INCLUDING IT HERE ALONG WITH SOME TIPS TO HELP ENSURE YOU’RE DOING THE JOB RIGHT."
B17010C2017-05-12. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
