It was determined that the calipers are not the cause of the brake pads wearing unevenly, and therefore, they should not be replaced if uneven brake wear is found. Uneven wear has been observed on the inner and outer pads for Brembo calipers and only the outer pads for Continental calipers.

Service Bulletin - Brake Warning Message: Clients may complain of a brake warning message in their gauge cluster accompanied by other warning lights. The brake warning message instructs the clients to visit their local dealer for diagnosis and repair.

Tech Line Summary Article - Clients are reporting the brake warning lights are on and a brake warning message that says "BRAKE SYSTEM Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer," is displayed in the MID. The complaint is typically reported to occur at start-up or when shifting into reverse. Do an all DTC check. If related codes are present, follow the appropriate troubleshooting. If no related DTC codes are present, confirm the client is not experiencing any brake performance issues. This issue is currently under investigation and there is currently no recommended repair.

This occurs when the rear brakes are cold and will go away as the brakes warm up. Please do not replace any brake components to try and address this issue.
