Service bulletin SC268_POC
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB_ELE416 | 2026-07-28. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: ON-BOARD CHARGER INSPECTION AND REPLACMENT (SA644) - This bulletin provides information related to charging system diagnosis and repair on certain Sportage (NQ5 PHEV) vehicles produced from December 13, 2022 through May 30, 2023. The affected vehicles may experience interrupted or inoperative high‑voltage battery charging due to an on‑board charger (OBC) internal malfunction. As a result, charging of the high-voltage battery may be interrupted or unavailable, with several diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored related to the OBC unit. If this occurs, the vehicle can still be driven by the internal combustion engine. |

| SC325_TSB_R1 | 2026-02-26. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS SERVICE CAMPAIGN: AEWP INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT (SC325) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Auxiliary Electric Water Pump (AEWP), control harness wiring, and/or engine room junction box for coolant intrusion and/or corrosion on certain 2022-2023MY Kia Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles listed in the table below. The AEWP in the subject vehicles may crack internally and allow coolant to intrude into the AEWP circuitry. If coolant enters the AEWP circuitry, the Check Engine Light (CEL) may be illuminated with one or more DTCs listed on page 2. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, the Active Air Flap (AAF) warning message can also activate, and coolant may eventually migrate through the wiring harness to the engine room junction block. This may result in a reduction of motive power and may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants which exceeds Federal and California standards. These standards were established to protect the public health and welfare from the dangers of air pollution. |
| TSB_ELE399_R1 | 2026-02-02. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: BMS DISCHARGE LOGIC IMPROVEMENT - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to upgrade the ‘BMS’ system software on certain 2023-2024MY Sportage HEV (NQ5 HEV) vehicles produced from February 15, 2022, through December 15, 2023, which may experience excessive discharging of the 12V lithium battery while parked, potentially resulting in a no-start condition. |
| TSB_ENG259_R1 | 2025-12-01. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: ITM REPLACEMENT AND ECM LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (CA2509) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to replace the Integrated Thermal Management Module (ITM) and then upgrade the Engine Control Module ‘ECM’ system software on certain vehicles, in the event the Multifunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated with DTC(s) P218100, P2181F0, and/or P2181F1 stored. This condition may occur due to degradation of the diaphragm inside the ITM. There are no drivability or other symptoms associated with this condition |
| TSB_FUE068 | 2025-10-24. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: GDI FUEL INJECTOR REPLACEMENT FOR MISFIRE DTC(S) THETA III 2.5L GDI (CA2505) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information regarding cylinder misfire DTCs stored on some 2021-2023MY Kia models listed in the on the table on page 4, equipped with a naturally aspirated Theta III 2.5L GDI engine and dual fuel injection, where a low-pressure (MPI) injector and a high-pressure (GDI) injector independently supply fuel to each cylinder. A GDI fuel injector may become damaged due to exposure to fuel containing ethanol, potentially resulting in the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminating, along with no-start, misfire, and/or reduced power, while driving at highway speeds remains possible. |
| TSB_ENG259 | 2025-10-09. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: ITM REPLACEMENT AND ECM LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (CA2509) - This bulletin provides information to replace the Integrated Thermal Management Module (ITM) and then upgrade the Engine Control Module ‘ECM’ system software on certain vehicles, in the event the Multifunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated with DTC(s) P218100, P2181F0, and/or P2181F1 stored. This condition may occur due to degradation of the diaphragm inside the ITM. There are no drivability or other symptoms associated with this condition. |
| TSB_ELE399 | 2025-09-11. Service bulletin. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: BMS DISCHARGE LOGIC IMPROVEMENT - This bulletin provides information to upgrade the ‘BMS’ system software on certain 2023-2024MY Sportage (NQ5 HEV) vehicles produced from February 15, 2022, through December 15, 2023, which may experience excessive discharging of the 12V lithium battery while parked, potentially resulting in a no-start condition. |
| SC338_OWNR_NQ5_102 | 2025-09-11. Emissions. VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS SERVICE CAMPAIGN: OWNER NOTIFICATION: EXPANSION (SC338 Flight 102) - This document is the owner notification advising that Kia is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign to update the battery management system (BMS) to prevent overcharging of the 12V Lithium battery in certain 2023-2024 MY Sportage Hybrid (HEV) vehicles to ensure compliance with emissions regulations. |
| TSB_SC338_R1 | 2025-09-03. Emissions. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS SERVICE CAMPAIGN: BMS S/W LOGIC IMPROVEMENT FOR DTC P1BB2 (SC338) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to upgrade the Battery Management System ‘BMS’ software logic on certain 2023-2024MY Sportage HEV (NQ5 HEV) vehicles produced from February 15, 2022 to December 15, 2023, and 2023MY Niro HEV (SG2 HEV) vehicles produced from June 21, 2022 through April 25, 2023. Due to a software issue, the Battery Management System (BMS) may inadvertently overcharge the 12V Lithium battery. If the 12V Lithium battery becomes overcharged, the subject vehicles may experience a reduction in motive power accompanied by the ‘Check Hybrid System, Stop Safely’ warning message, Hybrid system warning lamp, Service warning lamp, Charging system warning lamp, and a rapid beeping sound for approximately ten (10) seconds. (Note: This Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign supersedes SC335). |
