Service bulletin SSM 51100
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a rattle or flapping noise coming from the rear air duct vents while driving. This may be due to the normal operation of the rear air duct vents. To determine if this is a normal condition, perform a road test at 40 MPH (65 Km/h) or above. Inspect if the noise is coming from the rear vents. During the road test alternate air conditioning (A/C) between fresh mode and air re-circulation mode. If the noise is eliminated when the A/C is in fresh mode, this is considered a normal characteristic of the vehicle and no repairs should be performed.

| SSM 54137 | 2025-08-19. Service bulletin. Various 2021-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the rear camera on demand feature may exhibit "Please Check Surroundings For Safety" or "Full View Not Available" messages when the rear camera button is pressed and the vehicle is not in reverse. Inform customers this condition is considered normal operation and does not affect vehicle durability because the full rear view camera image can only be shown when the vehicle is in reverse. No additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition. |

| SSM 51874 | 2023-09-02. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2020-2023 Escape vehicles may exhibit a rattle or flapping noise coming from the rear air extractors while driving. This may be due to the normal operation of the rear air extractors. To determine if this is a normal condition, perform a road test at 40 mph (65 km/h) or above. Inspect if the noise is coming from the rear extractors. During the road test alternate air conditioning (A/C) between fresh mode and air re-circulation mode. If the noise is eliminated when the A/C is in fresh mode, this is considered a normal characteristic of the vehicle and no repairs should be performed. |
| SSM 51724 | 2023-06-28. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine may exhibit: insufficient cooling from the air conditioning (A/C), under hood popping/knocking/hissing noises and/or under hood smoke, coolant stains and/or spills on to the A/C compressor and clutch assembly. The compressor clutch might fail after operating the A/C system if the exterior of the compressor gets wet. Perform pin point test J, refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 412-00 Climate Control System > General Information > Diagnosis and Testing. If a compressor clutch failure is identified, replace the compressor clutch only. Do not replace the A/C compressor if no performance issues are identified. Document the PPT J results in the warranty claim. For claiming, use causal part 19V649 and applicable labor operations in Section 11 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 51541 | 2023-05-04. Service bulletin. All 2021-2023 Bronco Sport vehicles have a headlamp low beam pattern with a dark band above the vertical reference line. It is by design that there is no light directed in this area to satisfy regulatory requirements and also to minimize glare to oncoming traffic. Secondly, in the low beam pattern there is some light directed upward to satisfy regulatory requirements and also to assist with overhead sign visibility. This a characteristic of the vehicle. Do not attempt any repairs for this condition. |
| SSM 51286 | 2023-01-31. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on or before 07-Nov-2022 may exhibit a squeak/rattle/creak noise from the roof opening panel when the glass is closed or in vent position while driving on uneven highways. This may be due to roof opening panel bolts not being properly secured. To correct this condition, confirm that the bolts on each side of the moon roof are properly tightened. If the bolts are not properly tightened, tighten the bolts. Refer to the Workshop Manual Section (WSM), Section 501-17 Roof Opening Panel Glass > Removal and Installation. |
| SSM 50777 | 2022-05-16. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine may exhibit coolant stains on the A/C compressor. If coolant stains are observed on the A/C compressor, inspect the A/C system for leaks. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 412-00 Climate Control System > General Information > A/C Compressor Leak Detection to ensure proper function. If no performance issues are identified, do not replace the A/C compressor for this condition. |
| SSM 50200 | 2021-10-29. Service bulletin. On 2021 Bronco Sport and 2022 Maverick vehicles, when replacing wiper blades or wiper arms, damage to the wiper motors may occur if the following steps are not followed prior to using the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure in Section 501-16. To remove the wiper blades: 1. Place ignition key in accessory position (vehicles with keys) or key inside the vehicle (vehicles with intelligent access), press the Start-Stop button without applying the brake pedal. 2. Activate the wipers using the stalk switch. Do not manually rotate the wiper arms and blades. Damage to the wiper motor may occur. 3. When the wipers are at mid travel, move the key to the off position (units with keys) or press the Start-Stop button again to leave the wipers in a service position. Service the wiper blades once the wiper arms are at the mid travel position using the procedure in the Owner's Manual. |
| SSM 50015 | 2021-09-04. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles are equipped with an anti-fogging feature known as enhanced windshield anti fogging strategy (EWAFS). This feature automatically adjusts airflow in the cabin to prevent the windshield from fogging up and may be perceived by customers as irregular climate control functionality. To reduce fogging, the EWAFS functions include: the air condition (A/C) button may turn on and off automatically, recirculated air may turn off automatically in all air modes except MAX A/C, recirculated air may also turn on and off automatically in various airflow modes in order to improve heating or cooling efficiency, and in auto climate control, high humidity conditions may automatically engage A/C compressor, increase blower motor speed and/or direct more air to windshield. Continue to monitor the Workshop Manual (WSM) for EWAFS updates. |
