Service bulletin SSM 50693
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2017-2021 Ford GT vehicles built on or before 22-Sep-2021 may need to have a new battery installed for service. A new design service battery has been released and requires a different battery tray and a different local interconnect network (LIN) connector. This is due to the new battery being smaller and will not properly secure in the original battery tray. The LIN connector socket in the new battery is keyed differently and the original LIN connector will not plug in. The LIN connector will need to be de-pinned, so the new connector shell can be installed. When installing new battery part number: MG7Z-10655-A(USA/MEX), MG7Z-10655-B(CAN), MG7Z-10655-C(GCC) MG7Z-10655-D(EU), the following battery tray and LIN connector must be used: battery tray MG7Z-10732-A, LIN connector shell MG7Z-9A624-A. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 414-01 for battery tray replacement.

| SSM 50975 | 2022-08-02. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2022 Ford/Lincoln customers may experience a notification in the FordPass®/LincolnWay® app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. This occurs when the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SOC) drops below 50%. A warning may also set if the telematic control unit (TCU) has received an over the air update. The TCU powers down all communication when in this mode and app features are disabled. Manually start the vehicle to wake if from mode. More information is located in the app under: Account > Help > search 'Deep Sleep' in the entry box. If the condition remains, check the BCM 12v SOC. If the SOC does not change after charging the battery or after BMS reset is performed, continue with normal battery and/or BMS sensor diagnostics. |
| SSM 50320 | 2021-12-26. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2021 Ford GT vehicles built on or before 22-Sep-2021 may need to have a new battery installed for service or maintenance purposes. A new battery design has been released for service and requires a different battery tray and a different local interconnect network (LIN) connector. This is due to the new battery design being dimensionally smaller and will not properly secure in the original battery tray. The LIN connector socket in the new battery is keyed differently and the original connector shell will not plug in. The LIN connector shell will need to be de-pinned, so the new connector shell can be installed. When installing new battery part number MG7Z-10655-*, the following battery tray and LIN connector must be used: battery tray MG7Z-10732-A, LIN connector shell MG7Z-9A624-A. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 414-01 for battery tray replacement. |
| SSM 49888 | 2021-07-02. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2021 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P166B present in the gear shift module (GSM) after an on-demand self test is performed. This is likely due to the driver door not being fully closed and locked during the on-demand self-test. A false P166B DTC can set if the driver door is not fully closed or if it is unlocked during the self-test. If P166B is still present with the driver door fully closed and locked during the on-demand self-test, continue with normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-05. |
| TSB 21-2011 | 2021-04-03. Service bulletin. Some 2020 Mustang GT500 vehicles built on or before 28-Aug-2020 may exhibit various concerns with the active exhaust system. These may include "Drive Mode Not Available" or "Exhaust Mode Not Available" messages, and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P26C5, P26C6, P26FE, P2BF9, P2BFB, P26C7, P2BF5, P2BF8, P2BFD, and/or P2BFA. This may be due to pinched wiring or a misaligned bracket where the exhaust actuator mounts. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to make sure that the exhaust is seated correctly. |
| SSM 49567 | 2021-03-03. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2021 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit a creak/snap noise from the front door strut(s) when the driver and/or passenger doors are opened/closed. This may be due to reduced lubrication and/or dirt present at the front door strut ball and socket joints. If the noise is confirmed to be from the front door strut(s), the front door strut(s) should be removed per Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 501-03. After removal, the front door strut ball on the body and the socket of the front door strut should be thoroughly cleaned of existing grease and dirt. Once cleaned, apply Motorcraftù XG-11 High Temperature 4x4 Front Axle and Wheel Bearing Grease to the socket of the front door strut before reassembly. Any excess grease should be wiped away from all front door strut ball and socket joints. |
| SSM 49537 | 2021-03-03. Service bulletin. Some 2019-2021 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit a discharged battery with the battery charger and maintainer connected to the rear hatch storage compartment power point. This may be due to the cigar plug comfort connect end of the battery charger and maintainer not being completely inserted into the rear hatch storage compartment power point or by becoming disconnected when the cable is pulled when the rear hatch is lowered. Before diagnosing, interview the customer about their hook up method and the possibility of the cigar plug comfort connect end not being completely inserted and/or tension on the charge cable when the rear hatch is lowered. A properly connected and powered battery charger and maintainer will have an illuminated green power indicator and a battery charge level indicator showing at all times. |
| TSB 20-2353 | 2020-11-05. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2019 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit the active aero wing contacting the body after the vehicle has been stored for an extended period of time with the active aero wing in the lowered position. |
| TSB 20-2352 | 2020-11-05. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2020 Ford GT vehicles built on or before 10-Sep-2020 may exhibit a rattle/buzzing noise from the left rear of the vehicle during hot idle. This may be due to the transmission control module (TCM) calibration. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the TCM. |
| SSM 49028 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2020 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit a runs rough or hard start with or without an illuminated MIL with DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306 and/or P0316. Prior to performing any diagnostics, determine if the vehicle operating conditions may have resulted in multiple cold engine start-ups without allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature and being driven. If that operating condition is determined, inspect the spark plugs per Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 and repair as directed. If no concern with spark plugs are found, proceed with normal diagnostics per the Powertrain Controls/Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual. Upon returning the vehicle, refer the customer to the owners guide regarding proper driving cycles. |
