A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2021-2022 F-150 and Bronco vehicles built with SYNC 4 require a connected phone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active to enable voice interactions and use of the steering wheel Voice Control button. This is due to the affected vehicles not having built in voice interactions capability. Vehicles with built in voice interactions capability can be identified as also being equipped with the built in Connected Navigation feature which includes a navigation tab on the touchscreen. Diagnostics should only be performed for voice interactions on vehicles equipped with built in voice interaction capability or with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active.

Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a gasoline, hybrid or flex fuel engine (non-Lightning) except 2023 F-150 with 3.3L may exhibit inoperative A/C, lack of air flow, blows warm, and/or evidence of the evaporator freezing. SSM 524762024-05-03. Service bulletin. All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

SSM 523282024-03-20. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco/F-150, 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience a concern during accessory protocol interface module (APIM) programming where the vehicle's center display screen indicates USB Error. This may be due to a lack of memory space available to perform the APIM software update. If it is a memory concern, the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will provide an option to delete the voice application. Re-enter the module programming and when prompted, do not select first option - SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update, select the second option - Delete Voice Application(s) From Module. Once deleted, run the SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update as directed, this will update the software and automatically reload the voice app. If the voice delete option is not available, continue with normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual, Section 418.
