Service bulletin B510520

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

B6103212024-03-02. Service bulletin. SITUATION BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall (effective April 23, 2021) on a certain Model Year 2020 - 2021 BMW vehicles that were produced between August 13, 2019 and December 11, 2020. Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to an emissions recall, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to an emissions recall. The 12 V battery’s dual storage system (DSS) may contain a software error which intermittently causes a continuous resetting of the microcontroller and communication failure. The error is displayed by a red Check Control message.
B1601232024-02-01. Service bulletin. A vehicle arrives at your center to be diagnosed for a micro-leak in the fuel evaporative (EVAP) system(NVLD natural vacuum leak detection). For this condition, the following fault is stored in the DME: 190302 - fuel tank ventilation and scavenging air system, micro-leak: leakage more than 0.5mm For: Model vehicles other that the ones listed above, or for EVAP faults related to a “large leak,” after confirming that the fuel filler cap is fitted properly, then, proceed to follow the corresponding test plan
B1606232024-01-03. Service bulletin. Engine will crank but not start. There is no communication with the integrated fuel module (TFE) whendiagnosing with ISTA. The following two fault codes will be stored in the DME: 032B43 - Low fuel pressure system, electric fuel pump: pressure value too low CDA594 - Message (- 0x33E) missing, receiver DME, transmitter TFE
B1601232023-07-24. Service bulletin. A vehicle arrives at your center to be diagnosed for a micro-leak in the fuel evaporative (EVAP) system (NVLD natural vacuum leak detection). For this condition, the following fault is stored in the DME: 190302 - fuel tank ventilation and scavenging air system, micro-leak: leakage more than 0.5 mm.
SIB1702202022-10-17. Service bulletin. Symptom 1: There are traces of coolant leaking under the vehicle, or there is significant pressure released along with coolant loss when opening the low temperature cooling system reservoir (engine cold). The following fault code may also be stored in the DME: 20A201 - Charge air cooling system: Coolant pump protective function activated due to dry running Symptom 2*: The air conditioning may have low cooling output with the following fault stored in the IHKA: 80120A - Compressor: Shut down due to overpressure in refrigerant system. Symptom 2 is an additional symptom related to Symptom 1. Diagnose the IHKA fault with ISTA test plans if it is the only fault stored (if no DME faults are stored related to coolant loss, this bulletin repair does not apply).
B1603212022-06-21. Service bulletin. A fuel leak may develop from the fuel tank.
B1105212022-05-31. Service bulletin. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator.
B1105212022-02-22. Service bulletin. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator.
B5127202020-12-21. Service bulletin. FUEL FILLER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN: The fuel filler door (aka flap) will not open. In rare cases, if the vehicle is locked using the remote control key and the fuel filler door is pushed closed simultaneously, the fuel door can enter a locked state that cannot be unlocked.
B1703202020-06-15. Service bulletin. COOLANT LINE QUICK DISCONNECTS LEAK IN LOW TEMPERATURES AT OR BELOW -15Ë?C (5Ë?F): The coolant reservoir in the high or low temperature cooling system is low There may be a coolant leak under the vehicle There may be a check control message (ID166) to top up coolant The low temperature cooling system have a low level warning indicator. One or more faults may be stored related to the low temp cooling system: DME - 20A201 - charge air cooling system: Coolant pump protective function due to dry running active DME - 20A209 - charge air cooling system: Coolant pump protective function due to dry running active IHKA - 80120A - Compressor: Switch off due to excess pressure in the refrigerant circuit The outside temperature at the time of the complaint is at or below -15Ë? C (5Ë? F) The O-rings that seal the quick disconnect coolant lines will not seal properly when outside temperatures are at or below -15Ë? C (5Ë? F).
