Service bulletin TSB18-2090
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2018 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 2.0L Duratec engine built on 21-Sep-2017 and through 8-Nov-2017 may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0125 at ambient temperatures between -6-0°C (20-32°F). Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) using the latest Ford Diagnosis aand Repair System (FDRS). Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates.

| SSM 52314 | 2024-03-20. Service bulletin. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure. |

| SSM 50049 | 2021-09-04. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicle customers may receive a message in their FordPass or Lincoln Way App stating Feature Unavailable. Since this is a fleet vehicle, it cannot access the SYNC Connect or FordPass Connect feature or Lincoln Connect or Embedded Modem Do not replace the TCU or perform any repair to resolve this condition. Refer the owner of the vehicle to Ford Pass Guides or Lincoln Way Concierge Teams to assist in removing the fleet telematics subscription. |
| SSM 49821 | 2021-06-01. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB 20-2419 | 2021-01-05. Service bulletin. Some 2018-2020 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a reoccurring illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB. This may be due to the software in the powertrain control module (PCM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM. |
| SSM 47976 | 2019-06-07. Service bulletin. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01. |
| SSM 47750 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin. Some 2018-2019 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization and/or accessory protocol interface module (APIM) DTC U0198 or no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct this condition prior to programing remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall. Delete all previous session files for the vehicle. Verify that the electronic serial number (ESN) is now displayed. Start a new IDS/FDRS session. Program the TCU to the latest IDS/FDRS version level. Make sure you are connected to the internet before retesting. If the concern is still present, follow normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 415-00. Refer to PTS OASIS home page for TCU version identification. For claiming, use causal part 14G229. |
| TSB 19-2005 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin. Some 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 2.0L Duratec engine and an automatic transmission and built on 1-Sep-2017 and through 28-Nov-2018 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0137 and/or P0141. This may be due to a faulty catalyst monitor sensor (CMS) as well as powertrain control module (PCM) software. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. |
| SSM 47680 | 2019-01-07. Service bulletin. Some 2018 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L Duratorq-TDCi engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P061B. The 2018 Powertrain Controls/Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) Diesel Manual, Section 4 is incorrect and a powertrain control module (PCM) replacement may not be necessary for this DTC. The PC/ED is in the process of being updated. Do not replace the PCM at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |
| TSB 18-2269 | 2018-09-24. Service bulletin. Some 2018 EcoSport vehicles equipped with AWD and built on or before 12-Apr-2018 may exhibit a ratcheting/clicking type noise from the driveshaft area when reversing under certain load conditions. This may be due to the front U-joint on the driveshaft having a high working angle. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. |
