Service bulletin NTB17-111
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

2018 ROGUE; NEXT GENERATION NISSANCONNECT OVER THE AIR UPDATE FEATURE SERVICE INFORMATION The next generation NissanConnect now has the ability to update its system?s software through a Wi-Fi connection. These updates can now be applied by the customer, using their home Wi-Fi network, without the vehicle having to return to the dealer. Updates allow the customer to take advantage of: - New features as they become available - Continuous quality and performance improvements In some cases the customer may not have access to a secured WiFi network and will need to return to the dealer to perform any available updates. The Service Procedure in this bulletin contains the instructions to perform updates via a Wi-Fi connection. IMPORTANT: - To update the software by Wi-Fi the vehicle must be within range and connected to a secure Wi-Fi network. - A password protected Wi-Fi network with WPA2 security is required to secure the update download. WARNING: During the update process, the vehicle should be kept in a well-ventilated area to avoid the exposure to Carbon Monoxide. Do not breathe exhaust gases; they contain colorless and odorless carbon monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is dangerous. It can cause unconsciousness or death. NOTE: When diagnosing a NissanConnect issue, always confirm that the latest available software is installed in the AV unit before starting a diagnosis.

| NTB20-075 | 2020-11-09. Service bulletin. SOFTWARE UPDATE POP-UP NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The infotainment system of the applied vehicle has the ability to update its software through an over-the-air (OTA) link. As software updates become available for new features, and/or patches, the software update screen (pop-up) shown in Figure 1 will automatically be displayed. Much like cell phone and computer updates, this is a normal feature which allows the user to choose when an update is downloaded. • It is recommended that while in dealer inventory and this pop-up appears, that “ Yes” is selected to provide the latest software version to the customer at delivery. NOTE: If the ignition is turned OFF in the middle of a download, it will automatically restart when the ignition is turned back ON. When one of the following is selected: Yes…..The pop-up is hidden and the download starts in the background. Later…The pop-up is hidden and displayed again in the next key cycle (after cold start). |
