Service bulletin NTB19-067

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR INFOTAINMENT ISSUES SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing an infotainment issue, always confirm that the latest software is installed in the AV unit before starting the diagnosis. The software updates in the following Service Procedure are for the items below: • Stability improvements and bug fixes • System enhancements that will allow future Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. Without these software updates, future OTAs will not be possible. Refer to step 5 on page 5 to confirm that this bulletin applies. HINT: The update software only needs to be downloaded once and can then be used on multiple Applied Vehicles until other infotainment software is loaded onto the USB drive to overwrite the original data.

Much like cell phone and computer updates, this is a normal feature which allows the user to choose when an update is downloaded. • It is recommended that while in dealer inventory and this pop-up appears, that “ Yes” is selected to provide the latest software version to the customer at delivery. NOTE: If the ignition is turned OFF in the middle of a download, it will automatically restart when the ignition is turned back ON. When one of the following is selected: Yes…..The pop-up is hidden and the download starts in the background. Later…The pop-up is hidden and displayed again in the next key cycle (after cold start).
