"2017 QX30; MAIN 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING WITH MIDTRONICS GR8 OR EXP800 SERVICE INFORMATION WHEN TESTING THE MAIN 12V BATTERY OF AN APPLIED VEHICLE WITH THE MIDTRONICS GR8 OR EXP800, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS IN THIS BULLETIN ON PAGES 1 AND 2: - THE MIDTRONICS GR8 OR EXP800 TEST LEADS MUST BE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE POSTS ON THE MAIN 12V BATTERY AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1 (NOT THE REMOTE TERMINAL CHECK POINTS) TO AVOID INCORRECT CCA MEASUREMENTS. NOTE: THE REMOTE TERMINAL CHECK POINTS CAN BE USED FOR ALL OTHER BATTERY CHARGING OR VOLTAGE CHECKING PROCEDURES, BUT WILL GIVE INACCURATE CCA MEASUREMENTS DUE TO VOLTAGE DROPS BETWEEN THEM AND THE MAIN 12V BATTERY."

Attempting to start the vehicle, or turning the ignition ON, while using the high amperage quick charge could potentially damage the fuel pump control module. • Only turn the ignition ON when either the ESM or a technical service bulletin service procedure states to do so, and only while using a battery maintainer or smart charger set to reflash mode, or a similar setting. • Battery voltage should not exceed 16V during a reprograming operation.

Disconnect the main battery negative cable. 2. Determine if the ignition was left ON. 3. Disconnect the main battery positive cable. 4. Perform a Manual charge with the GR8. 5. Perform a Diagnostic charge with the GR8.
