Service bulletin. 2015-2018 Focus service parts transmissions part # F1FP-7000-VB / F1FZ-7000-P built on 1-Aug-2020 and through 01-Mar-2021 may have an incorrect input speed sensor A (ISSA) shim thickness. This may cause an intermittent input speed sensor diagnostic trouble code (DTC). In the event of shift issues or skip shift events, check and verify that the ISSA speed sensor shim is 2.0 mm (0.079 in) F1FZ-7Z101-A before proceeding with further diagnostics.
16-00622020-12-07. Service bulletin. Some 2012-2015 Focus vehicles may exhibit inaccurate fuel gauge indication and/or inaccurate distance to empty. The vehicle may also exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0420, P1450, P0443, P0452, P0456, P0460 and/or P2196.
SSM 470042018-06-11. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2018 Model Year Focus RS may exhibit inaccurate Outside Air Temperature(OAT) readings with intermittent Air Conditioning(A/C) function. Instrument cluster will display 0 degrees F(-18 degrees C) until the vehicle is driven above 20-30 mph for minimum of 1 minute. Concern can occur when engine is running(Key On Engine Running-KOER) and ignition is cycled Off and On again within 1 second. Do not replace Powertrain Control Module(PCM) or ambient air temperature sensor for concern. Sensor is contained within the right hand outside mirror, and is not serviceable separately . Engineering is currently investigating. To assist with the investigation use Report A Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the Oasis report and submit a Global Concern Report (GCR). Continue to monitor OASIS for future updates.
SSM 471302018-05-21. Service bulletin. Some 2012-2018 Focus Electric, 2013-2017 C-Max Energi, and 2013-2018 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) may exhibit the high voltage (HV) battery failing to charge while connected to the Delphi 120 volt electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) charge cord. To identify a Delphi EVSE the coupler on the EVSE that connects to the vehicle charge port is solid black. For information on the Delphi EVSE indicator status used for diagnostics, reference High Voltage Battery > Charging the High Voltage Battery in the Owners Guide for a 2018 Fusion Energi. Reference the Convenience Cord Light Emitting Diode (LED) Indicators chart. The Workshop Manual (WSM) is scheduled to be revised at a later date.
TSB 17-20632017-08-01. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2017 Focus RS vehicles built on or before 03-Apr-2017 may exhibit an Unable to Change Drive Mode message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P26FE stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. This may be due to a sticking exhaust valve when the temperature is below freezing. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 104.05 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com
SSM 463372017-03-15. Service bulletin. SOME 2016-2017 FOCUS RS VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A MESSAGE DISPLAYED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) THAT STATES DRIVE MODE SELECTION NOT POSSIBLE. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P26FE MAY ALSO BE PRESENT IN POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) MEMORY. DTC P26FE IS SET WHEN THE PCM IS UNABLE TO COMMAND THE TAILPIPE ACTUATOR TO MOVE. THIS CONCERN MAY BE CAUSED BY LOW TEMPERATURES (BELOW FREEZING) WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT 180 SECONDS, AND A KEY CYCLE, THE SYSTEM WORKS AS DESIGNED. THE ISSUE IS CURRENTLY UNDER ENGINEERING INVESTIGATION, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS AT THIS TIME. MONITOR OASIS FOR FUTURE UPDATES. FOR ADDITIONAL TAILPIPE ACTUATOR INFORMATION REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL (WSM), SECTION 309-00.
SSM 459632017-02-21. Service bulletin. SOME 2015-2016 FOCUS VEHICLES BUILT ON OR BEFORE 11/18/2015 MAY EXHIBIT AN INCORRECT AVERAGE FUEL ECONOMY READING. FOCUS CLUSTERS HAVE TWO TRIP COMPUTERS (TRIP 1 AND TRIP 2). IF THE CUSTOMER IS USING ONE FOR SHORT TRIPS (RESET AT EVERY REFILL) AND THE OTHER FOR LONG TRIPS (NO RESET SINCE HE/SHE OWNS THE VEHICLE) THE ISSUE MAY BE PRESENT AFTER EITHER TRIP COMPUTER READS GREATER THAN 3219 KM (2000 MILES). REPROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) TO RESOLVE THE CONCERN, USING IDS VERSION 98.01 OR HIGHER. MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET WHEN ENTERING MODULE PROGRAMMING TO OBTAIN THE LATEST UPDATES. CALIBRATION FILES MAY ALSO BE OBTAINED AT WWW.MOTORCRAFTSERVICE.COM. USE APPLICABLE 12651D LABOR OPERATIONS IN SECTION 10 OF THE SLTS MANUAL, USE CAUSAL PART 10849 FOR REPROGRAM.
