This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician to insure that global diagnostic service 2 diagnostic packages are up to date prior to learning the steering angle sensor for a diagnostic trouble code C710 symptom code 71 set in the electronic brake control module or the power steering control module. When rechecking for diagnostic trouble codes a U0074 U0077, U0180D, U01293, U0126, U0125, C0186, C0196, or C0287 are set and will not clear diagnose the Chassis bus. If no fault is found in the chassis bus check for an multiple diagnostic interface to data link connector issue. Technician is to try a different multiple diagnostic interface cable and attempt the steering angle sensor learn again following service information instruction then try to clear the codes again.
PIT5063D2017-08-15. Service bulletin. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with a diagnostic tip service steering message or service stability message. Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code C056E Sym 42 and a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0569 Sym 3A setting after a new steering gear assembly was installed. If Diagnostic Trouble Code C0710 Sym 71 is set it must be addressed firth before performing a steering gear "set-up" in Service Programming System. Steering Angle Sensor module Diagnostic Trouble Code C056D Sym 00 and it must be address first. Technician should be advised that Diagnostic Trouble Codes DTC C056E Sym 42 or C0569 Sym 3A will set when a steering gear assembly was replaced without Service Programming System programming.
