What is wrong
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the electronic brake booster (EBB) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EBB could enter a failsafe mode and cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain advanced driver assistance systems not to work properly.
Safety Risk:
A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.

Bulletins for the same vehicles and component
| SSM 54993 | 2026-07-13. Service bulletin. Some 2025-2026 F-150 Raptor vehicles may exhibit increased sensitivity or braking force when applying the brake pedal at slower speeds. To resolve this concern, reprogram the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 2005 and labor operations 2219D and ABS. |

| SSM 54940 | 2026-06-22. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a U2100:00 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for initial configuration incomplete stored in the trailer control module (TRM). This may be due to the vehicle having a Ford accessory trailer brake kit installed without being programmed following the included instructions. If the vehicle was built with minor feature code FDDAA and a trailer brake gain switch is present in the stock location in the instrument panel, a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit has been installed on the vehicle. If a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit is present, download and run the "TRM - Towbar Configuration" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). |
| SSM 54856 | 2026-05-26. Service bulletin. Some 2025-2026 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition where cruise control is inoperative and/or an "Adaptive Cruise Control Not Available" message is displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0422:00 stored in the anti-lock brake (ABS) module. If a vehicle exhibits this condition, this may be due to an incorrect configuration programmed to the ABS module during an attempt to change tire size. <br /><br /> The Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool is the only approved tool that can be used for properly adjusting the tire size calibration. Vehicles originally equipped with 30-inch tires that are being upfit with 35-inch tires should be set to 615 revolutions per mile in the Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool under Diagnostics and Tools > Tire/Gear Adjust. Any other concerns related to tire size calibration that exhibit this condition, contact the Ford Performance Techline as outlined in the Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool instructions. <br /><br /> This limitation in tire size calibration is due to the software in the ABS module. |
| SSM 54848 | 2026-05-26. Service bulletin. Some 2025 Bronco Raptor vehicles may exhibit a concern where certain selectable drive modes (G.O.A.T. modes) are unavailable after the ABS module receives a software update. Customers may also report that the "Offroad" mode is not visible and/or after switching to the "Baja" or "Rock Crawl" drive modes, the vehicle returns back to "Normal" mode. To correct this condition, download and run the "ABS - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Software Update" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming use causal part 2005 and labor operations 2219D and 2219D44. |
| SSM 54847 | 2026-05-26. Service bulletin. Some 2025 Bronco non-Raptor vehicles may exhibit a concern where certain selectable drive modes (G.O.A.T. modes) are unavailable after the ABS module received a software update. Customers may report that the vehicle is missing the "Mud/Ruts" and/or "Sand" drive mode(s). |
| SSM 54733 | 2026-04-14. Service bulletin. Some 2025-2026 Bronco/Expedition/Navigator/F-150/Ranger vehicles may exhibit a "Check Brake System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0563 stored in the ABS module. This may be due to air still trapped in the system after prior bleeding attempts and/or brake service mode being enabled. The applicable pinpoint test (PPT) in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09 has been updated to improve diagnostics for this concern. Make sure the latest software version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) is being used when performing the brake system pressure bleeding routine. |
| ABS-25.8.3 F-150BEV | 2026-03-04. Over-the-air update. "25S77 Recall remedy: -Addresses a potential loss of brake boost while driving. Hydraulic braking assist will still be available" |
| ABS-25.B11 Expedition | 2026-02-05. Over-the-air update. 26-OTA ABS-25.B11 Expedition |
| SSM 54401 | 2025-12-01. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2025 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a stuck in park condition with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). This may be due to connector C211 pin push out on circuit CCB61 or an open on circuit CCB61 between the antilock brake system (ABS) module and the body control module (BCM). Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-05 Automatic Transmission External Controls > Diagnosis and Testing > External Controls - Pinpoint Test for "Stuck In Park" has been updated with improved diagnostics. Refer to revised WSM sections for normal diagnosis. |
| SSM 54362 | 2025-11-12. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2025 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated red brake warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0049:01 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. Replace the brake fluid reservoir and the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector. Do not disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector, cut the connector 3-4 inches (75-100 mm) from the connector end and leave the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector attached to brake fluid reservoir. Include these parts in the same package when returning warranty replacement brake fluid reservoirs. The brake fluid reservoir with the electrical connector still connected should be packaged in the original box to protect it during shipping. For claiming, use causal part 2L210 and labor operations 2140A and 2219D45WR. |
