What is wrong

Issue:

On certain trucks, the left-rear axle shaft may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the axle shaft could break and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the truck is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the truck could roll away.

Note: This recall only affects single rear wheel trucks with 10.5-inch rear axle.

Safety Risk:

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that rolls away could also create the risk of an injury or a crash.

Corrective Actions:

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the left-rear axle shaft, and replace it as necessary.

SSM 552182026-10-06. Service bulletin. For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R140 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer (PVT) when available. Workshop Manual (WSM) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Accordingly, the air check procedure is not to be used for diagnosing internal transmission hydraulic leaks or as justification for transmission replacement.
TSB 26-23752026-08-19. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 26-2050 to increase the labor operation allowance of labor operations A and B. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: Poor shift quality Illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P2704 and P0771 stored in the PCM/TCM. This may be due to a calibration in the TCM and/or wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing the input shaft O-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. Additional model information: 6.7L Diesel Engine 2022-2024 F-550 or F-600 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 15-May-2024 with over 5,000 miles (8,000km)
SSM 549752026-07-07. Service bulletin. Some 2023-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R100 or 10R140 transmission may exhibit an intermittent failure to engage forward or reverse gears and/or a loud whining noise. Additionally, the driver will be able to shift back to park. This may be due to PCM software being unable to command the transmission solenoid clutch actuators when the battery has a low state of charge (SoC) and/or the vehicle has been jump started. To restore proper transmission functionality, charge the battery as stated in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01 Charging System > General Information. Cycle the ignition on then off and leave the vehicle off for 5 minutes to confirm the condition is no longer present. To prevent this issue from reoccurring, refer to the Owner's Manual > Storing Your Vehicle > Preparing Your Vehicle for Storage > 12V Battery. Replacement of transmission components will not resolve this condition. Inform the customer that the condition has no impact on transmission durability. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and labor operations 12650D, 12650D45, and 12650D81.
SSM 549002026-06-09. Service bulletin. TSB 26-22512026-06-05. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 25-2545. Reason for update: To correct the current Pinpoint Test description. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may require the replacement of the ambient air temperature sensor for various concerns. DTCs P0071, P0072, and/or P0073 may be present in the powertrain control module (PCM).
SSM 547382026-04-14. Service bulletin. Some 2023-2025 Escape 1.5L/F-Super Duty/Transit vehicles may exhibit a lack of cooling from the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, which may be accompanied by abnormal rattling, grinding and/or squealing noises from the engine compartment. This may be due to damage to the air conditioning (A/C) compressor internal components and/or clutch assembly. Confirm ambient air temperature is above approximately 0°C (32.0°F). On the HVAC controls, set the temperature to full cold (not MAX A/C), select PANEL, set the fan speed to the highest setting and select the A/C button (indicator on). If the A/C compressor clutch engages and the A/C compressor is noisy, and/or the belt is slipping on the A/C compressor pulley or the A/C compressor is seized, install a new A/C compressor as indicated in Section 412-00 of the Workshop Manual (WSM). For claiming, use causal part 19703 and labor operation MT19700SSM up to 0.3 hours to check for a damaged compressor. If the compressor requires replacement, claim labor operations 19700A and 19700A4. Also claim available Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) op

SSM 545922026-02-27. Service bulletin. For 20172026 vehicles equipped with a 10R transmission, a revision to the Road Testing Vehicle procedure has been made in the WSM, located in Section 307-01 > Diagnosis and Testing. This updated procedure improves the diagnosis of customer reported transmission concerns and aids in locating the proper root cause. During diagnosis and testing, details regarding whether the condition is more prevalent when the vehicle is hot or cold, throttle percentage at the time of occurrence, vehicle speed, the specific shift involved, and whether the issue occurs during transmission engagements (N>R, N>D, R>D, or D>R) should be noted. Engineering requests including these detailed operating conditions that will significantly assist with root cause analysis. Diagnosis, testing, and repair should use established labor times outside this article.
