What is wrong
On certain Passat and Passat wagon, a vacuum line may fracture and become disconnected at low ambient temperatures. If this happens, brake power assist could become inoperative. As a result, the driver would experience increased effort to apply the brakes and therefore possible increased vehicle stopping distance. This could lead to a crash without warning. Correction: Dealers will install a re-designed vacuum line.

All Passat Wagons (including 4motion) and 3.6L equipped sedans with front drive should have this function turned on (value = 1). Change the adaptation value and verify the fault has cleared. If you have a complaint of DTCs for the low side fuel pressure being out of specification (e.g. P310B), check the fuel pressure with BOTH a mechanical gauge and by the display in Measured Value Block 103. The readings should be 1 bar higher in the MVB due to reading atmospheric pressure + fuel pressure. If the mechanical gauge reading is within specification BUT the MVB 103 reading is not 1 bar higher, check for a possible faulty G410 Low Fuel Pressure sensor. |
