Service bulletin TT2006145a
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TB-09-10-02 | 2011-02-11. Service bulletin. VOLKSWAGEN: HEADLIGHTS MAY INTERMITTENTLY DIM SLIGHTLY AT IDLE. AT IDLE SPEED THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE CAN FLUCTUATE, AS THE ALTERNATOR CANNOT FULLY COMPENSATE THE FLUCTUATIONS. SOME ELECTRIC CONSUMERS COME ON IN CYCLES OR HAVE NO CONSTANT CURRENT CONSUMPTION, WHICH AMPLIFIES THIS EFFECT. THE LOAD CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE BATTERY CAN ALSO INFLUENCE THIS EFFECT.
