What is wrong
Certain vehicles may have received an incorrect replacement Body Control Module (BCM). Specifically, if, during service, the BCM was replaced with P/N 284B1-CA508 or P/N 284B1-CA509, the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) could become inoperative. As a result, these vehicles would no longer comply with CMVSS 108. Since this action deals with replacement parts, it is a deemed a Service Campaign and is not being conducted under the Safety Act. Correction: Dealers will replace affected BCMs.

Bulletins for the same vehicles and component
| NTB-03-074-C | 2010-03-03. Service bulletin. NISSAN: EXTERIOR LAMP FOGGING. OCCASIONALLY WATER IS NOTICED IN THE EXTERIOR LAMPS. THIS IS GENERALLY NOT DUE TO A DEFECT. ALL CURRENT EXTERIOR LAMP ASSEMBLIES ARE VENTED TO THE ATMOSPHERE (NOT SEALED). THIS IS NECESSARY TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION OF AIR FROM TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS (WARMER OR COLDER) WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE LAMP. MOISTURE IN THE AIR SOMETIMES TRAVELS INTO AND OUT OF THE LAMP ASSEMBLY THROUGH THESE VENTS. CERTAIN ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE MOISTURE TO CONDENSE. THE FOGGING/CLOUDINESS SHOULD DISAPPEAR OVER TIME WHEN THE LAMP IS IN A DRY ENVIRONMENT. NO MODELS LISTED. *PE UPDATED 5/7/10. *PE UPDATED 12/9/13. *PE |
