What is wrong
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Kenworth T280, T380, T480, Peterbilt 536, 537, and 548 vehicles. When the brake pedal is fully applied and then released rapidly, the pedal plunger that connects the brake pedal to the brake valve may become disconnected, causing the service brakes to fail.
What can happen
Service brake failure can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will add a pedal restraint bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 7, 2023. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-588 and Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 23KWB and 23PBB.

Bulletins for the same vehicles and component
| 24KWE/24PBE | 2026-01-06. Emissions. The parts section has been updated for clarity. The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the vehicle may result in the vehicle being disabled after it comes to a stop, thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A warning will appear on the dash display when communication is lost, including transmission or engine warnings, “!” next to DNR/DNRP indicator, “-“ in the DNR/DNRP indicator, and/or chimes, depending upon whether you are operating a diesel/gas or battery electric vehicle. |

| 13-065 | 2024-11-05. Service bulletin. 13-065 DAVIE4 Chassis Air Leak Testing Info Only A new test is now available in DAVIE4 to properly measure chassis air system pressure decay, provide test results, and pass/fail criteria. Your DAVIE tool must be at version 24.05 or newer for the test to be available. A test procedure document has also been made available that shows all necessary setup and testing procedure criteria (procedure document attached in Links section). The DAVIE4 “Check the air pressure decay rate” test and the test procedure document MUST be followed anytime a chassis comes in for a warranty related air system repair where excessive air system pressure decay is suspected. Warranty claims filed for air system pressure decay may be denied if DAVIE4 test AND test procedure have not been followed. |
